Dieting as understood for losing fat is more of a “cultural” definition since most people use it in that context.

Don’t know if that makes sense…

Makes sense and I agree.
Dieting means regulating food choices and portions to achieve a desired outcome.
For some that is to lose fat.
For some that is to gain muscle.
It is all still dieting.
Well I guess we’re both on the same page.

That was painless lol.

I agree with X though Bout the diet thing. We don’t need to be nitpicky. We are all on the same page with that. My post was the one that sparked this “discussion.”
I said that dieting doesn’t only apply to losing fat and can be applied to gaining weight.
Some here said it DOES mean losing fat.
Then some here backtracked to say that “generally speaking it is applied to losing weight.”
Yes, obviously it is generally associated with losing fat BUT like I said the whole time isn’t a term exclusively applied to losing fat.
I said it applies to losing or gaining.

Boy…it’s a good thing posters called me stupid and other names for standing up for what I believe in and most people agree with.

Boy, you guys following me around sure are way better morally and ethically than me.
Captain Narcissism strikes again…newsflash, nobody gives two shits about you outside this thread.
Right. LOL @ “most people.” Yes, PX sure has tons of support in his shitstorm threads. Maybe he’s seeing posts everyone else is not. There are far more people calling him out than defending him.

This is all they do. As if it was ever different?

They spend hours literally lying and making shit up just to argue even if they really agree with what was written…and then some of you keep cheering it on…

Come on Lanky we can do this…wait

Question, why does PX keep following us around just to argue?

GOOD POST

I rarely argue with what you have to say…the vast majority of the time it is with your backtracking and selective memory.

Painless indeed
Approaching gaining with the same dedication and attention to detail as you would losing weight will result in the best progress.

“That’s why I got a caliper reading so there would be no guess work”

Comments like that make me laugh at least. There is probably enough original material like that from X to fill threads upon threads… Wait a minute…

Why is that funny to you?

Serious question.

I was being told that I was 25% body fat or more by Brick.

I am not. Glad I cleared that up for those who were concerned.

Selective history…he said you were much more than 15%…you came up with 25% on your own.

Come on now.

Because you’ve done it for 11 years and people are finally tired of your BS. That’s why it gets cheered on. It’s like seeing the school bully finally get his ass kicked, or the loudmouth, shit-talking drunk getting punched in the face.

It did used to be different in that people used to simply tolerate your attitude. It didn’t have to be this way. You made your bed now you have to lie in it.

Absolutely. But the kicker is I only do it to you. An eye for an eye. You, on the other hand, are a complete dick to everyone that disagrees with anything you have to say.

Stop being a prick and you will stop seeing prickish posts from me to you. I’m not going to hold my breath.

I just found it funny how you said that as if callipers are dead on, so you “took the guess work out”. And I don’t agree that you are 15%. And all the people here that disagree aren’t acting like you have no muscle or are obese.

Just not as lean as you think. So when someone compliments you on your size, please don’t say something like, " good post, some here seem to think you need to be contest lean to see the huge amount of muscle I’ve built" OT “some here seem to think I’m too obese for all the muscle I’ve built to count”

You have a lot of muscle. That’s not the debate. The fat you carry is

LOl at this. Apparently telling you the truth is “being a prick” to you.

You can rant about how lean you are, but if I ever mention I have more muscle than you, then that is me acting “superior”.

Got it.

You guys are a waste and detriment to this forum if this is all you are about.

For real.

I haven’t even posted a recent shirtless picture so anyone acting like they know what my BF is exactly without that is full of shit.

Why didn’t you call them out?

I don’t clam to be any leaner than I am.

I don’t care about being leaner to just impress you or anyone else.

In my opinion, it takes way more heart and work to build all of that muscle.

It takes a few months to diet if that is your goal.

Not all of us care to be as lean as you want to be.

Hey, guys. I pop in and, “Holy shit! About 6 more pages!”
Anyways, to X: You stand by your claim that Bauber had to have “bulked up” just because he got to the size he did. I find fault with this because it seems like you are just saying that adding muscle is “bulking” when it’s really just adding muscle. This is relevant to the semantics debate going on now because when most would just say that Bauber carefully monitored his macros and portions in order to gain muscle, you would just lump that all into “bulking”.

Really, it’s not. If that were the case then every person on this site that is trying to build muscle is “bulking”. Then, you would argue that “bulking is spending a good deal of time on gaining size and strength without focusing on fat gains”, or however you want to try and spin that to make it sound better. At this point, you are just trying to do what you are getting irritated with others for doing, which is attempting to take a term that had one meaning and give it another meaning.

Really, you’re just playing semantics as much as anyone else when you nitpick about what “bulking” is. As a final note, you have to realize that terminology can and will change with time. Words take on completely new meanings over the years, whether the new connotations are ameliorative or pejorative. Now, I feel like you are taking issue with all of this because it seems like others are attacking the definitions of words that you grew up with and thought were universally understood and accepted. However, you’re getting older, man. Things change and that includes bodybuilding slang.
