I think part of the problem is that being big is not all it takes to win a comp or be impressive. There are more and more massive guys every day. Winning is now about how shredded you can get. And honestly just being a big SOB is not that uncommon. Go to any BB show and check out the audience full of huge soft dudes.
There seems to be to big an emphasis placed on mass and little appreciation shown for how difficult it is to be both “big” and shredded by X. Getting to 10% body fat is difficult for a lot of guys, especially if they are going to weigh close to 200lbs at 10% IMO and in my experience. However getting any percentage below 10% is vastly harder then getting down to the original 10%. Guys walking around under 10% and 180-200 Lbs and 6"1 or shorter look impressive in person. I would say even look more impressive to most everyone then the 235LB 17-25% power lifter look.
This may seem a little off point but I think this is why there is a back lash against what X is saying.
No Criticism meant towards anyone.
That’s the thing…no one is saying that dieting isn’t hard.
I am getting called obese by people carrying way less muscle than me…when I am not obese.
What is the deal with some of you?

You have no idea how much size you have based off of a calipered BF reading by your hommie from the gym…calipered tests of big guys are ALL over the place.
You have been dodging that point since the beginning…for all you know you would be smaller than most if you lost the fat. Yet you still claim to be this monster…does not compute.
Like I said, I never insulted you…and anyone pretending I am too fat to see muscle has some screws loose.
This shit does not happen in real life.
Full house guys walking up to guys who are leaner and telling them how much more developed they are also does not happen in real life.

I Think you need to cut to 5-8% body fat and shut everyone up. There will be a nice rebound growth period in there for you I promise.

It doesn’t have to. In the real world, no one is going to call a guy at 15% and over 250 “a fat tub of goo”.

Why the fuck would I do that if I don’t care about doing it?
Serious question. Why is it MY GOALS are causing such a problem for some of you?
You are not obese or a tub of goo. You get criticized because you tout sheer size as the pinnacle of achievement. There are guys smaller and leaner than you who are more impressive.
I bulked for the record…I think that depending on the persons end goal, age, and tolerance level it has its place. Can progress be made otherwise? Sure…But “Bulking” was for me the most effective way for me to naturally increase strength, and make measurable gains with regard to my strength levels.

Because you constantly boast that your size is more impressive than guys who are leaner. You have said that you have no desire to lean out any more. That’s fine, but don’t act like that makes you more impressive than people who have goals to be leaner and don’t mind being smaller.

Classic case of “do as I say not as I do.”
Stop wasting your time SS.
If those of us who disagree with Professor/doctor/geneticist/personal trainer X stop responding to him then this will stop.
Everyone reading this board has already come to their conclusion regarding him.
Nothing written by either side is going sway anyone.
I do appreciate the humor of most of your posts but maybe it’s time to cut it off.
Just as it seems many here finally decided “enough is enough” with regards to taking his crap for 10 years I think it’s time to say “enough is enough” with posting about his never ending progress.
Your talents would be better used elsewhere my friend.

I think its because you have a tendency to give diet advice and your goal seems to be singular in nature. IE, what you have achieved is not measured against anyone in a competition. I don’t care what you do man, I think you look massive and if you are happy keep it up. I think you need to recognize that most people here are not sharing your personal quest, as a matter of fact there seems little point to most people in why you would pursue it if you have no intention to compete in any fashion.

I think this is accurate. at 250 and 15% even to get to 5% you need to lose 25#'s. You always end up losing more then you think on a cut that low. I think that ending in the teens and 5-8% would be a reasonable estimate.

Lanky,
At what height level would you add 3, 5 or 10+ pounds?
For you is it based off of a height or a build or something else?
edited:
Do you see where I find it difficult to accept 10+ pounds per inch?
Think about a lifter who is 5’11 and a lifter who is 6 feet.
The height difference is almost negligible but a 10+ pound increase is VERY noticeable.
5’10 250 is big but 6’1 290 is freakin HUGE!
The height difference wouldn’t be that significant but the added 30-40 would be in no way proportionate to the height gain IMO
I already said I think 10 pounds is a bit on the high side, depending on body fat levels. At PX bodyfat levels I think it’s realistic, at Utahlama bodyfat levels I think it’s more like 6 lbs an inch.
It’s all a sliding scale, there is no right answer here except that I have, beyond that shadow of a doubt, proven that it’s more than 3 pounds per inch. ![]()

Bullshit…on all of this.
First, I never wrote that I have no desire to lean out more. I plan to diet more this summer. I don’t care about PLEASING YOU with my level of leanness.
Further, it isn’t that size is more impressive. I simply wrote that I gained moe than many here…and you threw a fit for it.
That doesn’t mean I am “more impressive”. It is just the truth. Why does that bother you?

LOL. hat pic isn’t recent. It is two years old.
If I looked like that two years ago…why are guys like you acting like I got obese and stayed that way?
Some of you seem to enjoy trying to make it seem like I have to get smaller than you to get lean…because it apparently hurts to admit that I might be carrying way more muscle and keep it.
