If you’re looking for a scientific explanation evolutionary psychology is a good start.
The purpose is to survive until reproductive age then have as many “high quality” children as you can, leaving them with enough support to do the same. In a hunter/gatherer society anything that provided pleasure was good and anything that gave you pain was generally bad. That’s why sex is supposed to be the best natural experience you can have, and getting a child killed prematurely is one of the worst.
So… the meaning/purpose of life is to nail as many hot broads as possible and have a great family life. Yeah they’re at odds with one another. Evolution isn’t politically correct.

When it comes down to it, what is the meaning of life? What are we here for? I don’t want any Bible quotes , and I don’t want any bullshit answers. Every man must, at some point or another, wonder why we are here, and what our purpose is. What are your thoughts?[/quote]
If you want peace, then forget that there is any such question as what is the purpose of life. The way to do this is to focus instead on what is your purpose for this day.
If you do that, and if there is a God, you will find God.
Man, this forum has gone to shit. I love all the “T-men” getting drunk and sitting at their computers posting gay shit on a lifting forum. Why not get drunk and go fuck a “T-vixen” or maybe a “T-dog”…hey fuck it, for you southern guys, why not a “T-sheep?”
Or here’s a grand idea…go lift some fucking weights…that’s what the site is for, fuck fuck fuck fuck. What “T-he” fuck happened around here?
So yea, “T-his” is the last straw in a long line of fuckin bullshit ass faggy posts around here. What you need is a fuckin “T-bag.”
Ever think we weren’t meant to know. Kinda like the thread yesterday about the guy who wanted to know his girlfiends sex history. You think you’ve got an angel until you learn her hobbies are being gangbanged by the football, soccer and track teams and on special occasions the elders down at the VFW. Point is sometimes we seek for answers but when we finally find them they’re not as miraculous as we expected.
Maybe man was never taught his true origion or purpose because he wouldn’t be able to handle the fact that after we die it starts all over or we go to sleep for eternity. I think if people found out the “truth” and it was far less than expected life would not be worth living and mass sucicides would take place daily. Bottom line is some questions are better left unanswered.
Besides why worry, you’ll know in 40 years anyway so be patient and have the best possible life and the most fun you can while you’re here. In my opinion that last sentence is the answer for true happiness.
The meaning of life for me is living it to my maximum potential, and harming no one else in the process. I think the answer is different for each individual. Nothing is true…All is permitted.
If you are even close to being a christian (or even have a little bit of faith) you owe it to yourself to read “The Purpose Driven Life”. Life changing (and saving in some instances). This is not a criticism of those who are trying to find another way. It’s just a statement of belief. There’s still free speech, right?
