my training is based on squats/overheads/deadlifts…i’ve been thinking about doing some sort of a 4 day split like this:
ME lower
Repetition day upper
Repetition day lower
ME upper
i’m asking for some ideas on how to set up the repetition days. i was thinking about maybe doing some sort of EDT for strength for the main movement…hope i can get some feedback from you guys…
Google Mike Mahler’s name he has a few articles on EDT for strength.
The RE method is just taking a submaximal weight an lifting it till near failure. So I don’t see why you can’t just set it up like 4*15 style or something.
Another alternative is to take say front squats for instance, and do them Tabata style.
Charles Staley also has good information on EDT (Duh)
Sorry that I’m not exactly hooking you up with links, but Google is your friend.
thanks for your reply bro…EDT sounds good for rep day, i just don’t know if i’m going to be able to recover from such high volume.
i might take some ideas from “westside for skinny bastards” and apply them to the overheads instead of BPs.
i just want to start adding volume to my training. but i don’t know if i’m strong enough to start using DE days.
go to elitefts.com and read as much as you can. Try the beginners program outlined there. The whole point of westside is finding what works for you and changing your training to it. It’s simple and effective. You’ll be able to adjust volume to fit your recovery needs. If you wanna gain muscle, the accessory exercises will surely do the trick combined with enough calories to grow.
thanks a lot for taking the time to help me guys…great link…good list of ME overhead movements. might try ME/DE focusing on overheads instead of bench.
