Ummm… 63" is 5.25ft actually.
I can touch my head to 9’2" or so from the stand and 9’6" or so from an approach and I am 6’3" with shoes on. At a combine-style test my standing vertical was measured at 38" but that’s obviously inflated.
My best box jump with no approach is 57", so technically I have Guadango beat, but I am also a bit taller than him and have longer legs so that gives me a bit of an advantage.[/quote]
Not sure how I fucked the math up but at least you got a response… I will have to check the height on my jumps and go for a PR but I don’t take the time to do it while working out.
Not sure if I can get 57"; I am 70" tall on a good day but I think it is possible with practice.
As far as faceplanting, I have had a few close calls. What I have been able to do when I am not going to get my feet high enough is completey turn so that I land with my ass on the pylo box. Usually if you are just missing a few inches with your feet you will have enough time to make the turn and get your ass on the top of the pylo. This can get difficult though as you get really high.

Well if you totally wipe out, then you are probably trying a box that is way too high for you. Just work up gradually and you will find that you might get your feet up there but not quite high enough to stick the landing and you just kind of tap your feet and hop off backwards. If you are athletic then you shouldn’t really have a problem with that.

Haha oh and I also meant “a response to this” as “I wanted to respond to this thread”, not like, “worship me and my l33t jumpz”. Just wanted to clear that up.
Does this make you guys any good at high jump?
I would probably be the worst high jumper ever. I’m totally a bilateral jumper; my 1-foot touch is only like… 10’8".
i just tried some box jumps for the first time today, did 5 doubles on a 46 inch box they were sweeet. some of my best lifts are, squat 240x2, deadlift 300, clean 190, clean and jerk 175 for ten singles, and standing broad jump of 112 inch
