Me At 16

going out on the limb here.

16, wrestler, say you have been lazy so I assume you don’t have a job, thus someone bought your iphone for you (thats cool, i’d take one too). My guess is that you have lived this way for a good amount of time, things handed to you (I mean, $500-$600 phone?), and I think it is showing in the gym.

I’m not trying to profile you here, just taking a guess, because I used to be the SAME way when I was 12-17, then I learned real quick the hard work it takes to condition and train properly (thanks to lacrosse and college, 2 things that if I did not try MY hardest, I would fail miserably)

If this is the case-just a word of advise-DON’T wait until after vacation to “start back up”-MAKE the commitment NOW, start NOW that you obviously realize that there is a problem.

And please please please build those traps a little more. Gaining as much muscle as possible is tough during season and practice with miles of running a day, I know, but utilize the off season for this. You have to decide how you will spend your summers, that is your choice. I’m just trying to give you a word of advice.

He said it’s his sister’s i-phone…

By early September, I will post new pics with a lot more angles (I have a real camera now).

Very good strength for your age, buddy.

I know from your posts that you are intelligent and hard working, and you obviously know what you need to do. Cut out the excess garbage in the diet and don’t gain much more fat than you “need” to. The fatter you are, the easier you’ll store fat and the harder you’ll have to diet down to a competitive weight. Harder dieting means more strength and muscle lost.

Good luck, buddy!

Just wanted to update the thread and say that I have since cleaned up my diet and started training more intensely. I haven’t dranken anything besides diet iced tea, a glutamine and creatine mix, 16 oz of Gatorade during my workout and a serving of Surge after, and water in about a week and have started eating less frequently and much cleaner. I consume mostly meat, vegetables, and the occasional starch post-workout. I think I’m retaining a lot less water now that I have cut out most of the carbs and I look better just from that, or at least I think so. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction, pics to follow.
