I gather it’s got something to do with “decency”.
Meanwhile,

I just don’t think it’s a good idea to allow a person that was tortured in a POW camp to become president.
There are jobs this man would not be able to get because of perceived mental risks but when it comes to running the country no one questions it. It’s all just hero talk and don’t question the patriotism. It’s a shame that we can’t really talk about the fitness of this man as a would be president.
Is anyone else reminded of Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now when ever they hear him speak.
Also gotta wonder why this war hero was never advanced to Admiral…?

Did they now?
When exactly was that? Before of after you sent thousands of troops?
Ah, before.
Got a day or year for this alleged invasion?
Yeah, why don’t you pick up a history book and find out what your left wing b.s. anti-us propaganda won’t tell you.
Do you even have a clue as to what the Vietnam war was about?
You ignorance of the situation is about as stupid as if I were to say “I wish the Palestinians would quit invading Israel.”
-edit Better yet, how about a date when the alleged US invasion of North Vietnam happened.

This is a really dumb thread. And I usually don’t start out my responses so rudely, but this one deserves it.
The man was held captive, tortured, and suffers permanent disabilities from said treatment. Commercials? I don’t care if he starred in full lenght movies on their behalf, with the treatment he went through. Any of you sacrifice as much pain and motor function as he has for this nation?
See my other threads, this isn’t a guy I’m rooting for. But, this is just tasteless.
+1
I’d like to see these shitbirds that badmouth McCain for talking (if he did) volunteer for 1 minute of waterboarding. If you don’t talk then you can continue to bag on McCain.
That’s all that needs to be said. This thread needs to die.

But it’s a good idea to elect and over the hill out of his mind bat shit Congressman to the Presidency.
You’re an idiot.

Hey, just asking. Never said he was crazy, just that there are plenty of jobs where his psyche eval would get rejected simply for being imprisoned – even if it was as a POW.
Besides that, I don’t like the idea of “war heroes” running the country. They’re too full of their own righteousness.
If bringing up Paul is the only way you know how to make a point then you have no argument. We are talking about McCain.
Ron Paul is a genius sitting next to McCain. McCain couldn’t even answer a simple question put to him by the good doctor.

Oh I see, so that somehow takes away from his status?
There are many, many service men that are given awards equal to or greater than what John McCain was awarded and they never make it to the rank of Admiral, or General. In fact, former President Bush was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals and a Presidential Unit Citation.
You haven’t been right since your idol Paul got crushed in all of those many, many primaries…
You should really take some time off from posting Lifty…7 or 8 years ought to do it.

Ron Paul ACTUALLY wants us to follow the Constitution! He wants the American people to follow their Constitution!! That is a laughable concept, and a sad one at that.
It is natural for predators to rob and plunder. The Constitution attempts to limit that. But its like trying to repress the sex instinct — it can’t be done, at least not for long. Only an absolute tyranny can repress violent humans for very long.
Communism was impractical because it expected every individual to work for the benefit of the group, which is simply ludicrous. The American system of rational selfishness can’t work, because humans will become irrational when rationality doesn’t work (such as a father who loses his job and robs and murders so his family can eat). When things don’t work, humans go nuts.
So, we eventually have to have an absolute tyranny, something like in ‘1984’. We are simply too violent and intelligent otherwise. Its tyranny or simple oblivion.

Highly intelligent species…very violent…with weapons capable of killing everyone…
Only a tyranny which watches everyone 24/7 (like the telescreen in ‘1984’) can control such a population. I’m not advocating that, but simply pointing out what eventually will happen.

Sadly, I acknowledge this fact. Humans have great capacity to learn but unfortunately it takes them years to realize they’ve learned and by then its too late.
Liberty will be sold as nothing more than chaotic anarchism which, of course, will require the giant, monolithic State protect Us lest We eventually come to our senses.
McCain is only 5’7, too short to be a US President. Man, I can’t believe Romney dropped out, he had this thing licked. Now we’ll get Hillary or Barak the magic negro.
