I agree if this is in fact the case and she told me pre-birth it might not be mine.

Honestly, this guy sounds like kind of an idiot if he didn’t put two and two together. Unless she got pregnant and got back together with him the next day, like literally the next day.
Stranger things have happened.

Heck, stranger things have happened to Ruff!
This - it’s almost like Varqie is researching a book or something…
Say what?

Ha! Okay.

She could be referring to the child.

Will have to wait until the person actually there clarifies on the situation.

As it stands, I find it really difficult to believe that the husband never noticed anything.

Has anyone considered the idea that the parents may have told the girl she was adopted in order to explain the dissimilarity from the husband?
So now she doesn’t know the mother is her biological mother?

That seems kinda weird.

Possible, but would require another layer of subterfuge. Kids like to see their baby pictures, women like to talk about “When I was pregnant with you…”, “We rushed to the hospital…”, “You were born there…”

Another reason to have a basic conversation.

Imagine your daughter is 15. The truth comes out.

Better that she hears Option A - “He didn’t know about you, but when he found out he wanted to make sure you were OK and that if you ever needed him or wanted to know him he would want to meet you. He made sure I had his contact in case you ever wanted to find him.”

Instead of option B - “When he found out about you, he walked away and never contacted me again.”

All these posts are great ads for rubbers.

I hadn’t, now that I have, I think that’s kinda fucked up too. The girls own biological mother tells her she’s adopted. That’s weird, at best.

Maybe they told her they used a sperm donor…

my older brother married a chick with a 2 YO boy, then got married a year later. Boy’s dad was a deadbeat, so brother adopted the boy, and had another boy with this chick.

then they tell the boy that my brother is his father (hope he never checks the wedding photos), and everyone in the family backs my brother and his wife on this.

now, boy is 19, in college, and still thinks that my brother is his father.

I think that’s way wrong - at some point, they are going to have to come clean, and tell this boy that they have been lying to him all his life.

right?

Right.

That’s a talk that they should have had years ago.

He is his father, they just don’t share DNA.

At this point (I’m not passing judgment as to whether they should have told be before or not) bets to wait until dude is old enough to get a drink at a bar before they tell him. I foresee some contemplative moments staring into the bottom of a glass alone in dive bars for him.

Meh, same thing happened to me. I found out when I was 18 that my dad is not my biological, I could give two shits. My dad raised me, and put up with my shit, who cares about the guy who donated sperm.

I highly doubt most 18 year olds today would be able to handle such a revelation.

Why? Just curious your opinion.

I don’t think most 18 year olds would be able to see it for what it is like you did. I find people aren’t really mature until their early to mid twenties. Of course there are exceptions.

I agree just wanted your opinion. I viewed it as disrespecting the guy who paid and raised me from 2 years old.

Not at all, my apologies if I came across that way. I have a lot of respect for adoptive parents.

I wonder if I have any kids I don’t know about.

Wait a minute…

File that under “things women never say.”
