I’m not trying to talk shit, but other than the deadlift DW isn’t strong. His form did improve though.
That’s your opinion; however, I don’t see you doing olympic full squats, hams to calves, without a belt or knee wraps, with almost double bodyweight.
BTW, I strict press around 15lbs over my bodyweight and push press 45lbs more than BW. That’s weak too, I guess.
I do respect your progress, that’s for sure. But Whiteflash is kinda right, first of all your 20 pounds away from a double bodyweight squat. A 3 times bodyweight squat is considered strong in the strength world, a double is very common.
Take digitalair on this forum, he looks to be about your age, he’s not even training for strongman, and he’s lower body strength is way ahead of yours. He has posted a video oh himself doing nearly 3 times bodyweight box squat, and his form is usually textbook. Your best bet is to be humble and just continue gaining, your not strong enough to be cocky yet, in all seriousness.
A box squat is usually much higher in terms of depth compared to an ATG olympic full squat. Plus, I use no support gear (i.e. belt, wraps, and suit) when I squat.
A double bodyweight raw olympic full squat is considered very respectable in most peoples’ eyes and I’m very close to that. I guess the T-Nation crowd are all champion powerlifters and gold medal olympic weightlifters.
Also, most people can’t even push press their bodyweight, let alone strict press it. I’m going to push press 225 over my head this year at a bodyweight of around 165. Oh wait, I forgot; that’s terrible too though.[/quote]
A box squat is sometimes just as difficult, if not more. Your intiating all the movement from a pause on the bottom, where in an olympic squat you get rebound from the bottom. A double bodyweight squat is still nothing amazing, even more so when your a light guy, dime a dozen. You haven’t done 225 yet tho… you’ve done 205 at 165, right? thats ok, nothing to brag about! Your deadlift is the only decent lift, and it looks so sloppy, it’s like you can’t straighten out those legs or something.
