Marius Pudz won the 2002 WSM, as far as I know Mark Henry has never won. In fact, I don’t think he’s ever even made it to the finals.

I think it was the Arnold’s strongman competition if I remember correctly, I need to do some research to confirm that but I remember he won a strongman competition.
Mark won the first Anrnolds Strongman, belive it was 2001 or 2002. That was the year the big deal was the lifting of the Apollons Wheel, 1.92 thick bar, non revolving, total weight 366. Henry is one of the few who have ever lifted it overhead.

He has also cleaned and pressed the Inch Dumbell, an amazing feat in itself. The guy would make a hell of a strongman, he’s proven that, but must be having more fun “wrasslin’”

I checked out the events for this years Arnold Strongman and it is sick. Going to take some serious power, not foot speed, to win these events.

(Thread Hijack with apollogies)

Apollon?s Wheel ?This unique barbell was made famous by turn-of-the-century strongman Louis ?Apollon? Uni. The barbell resembles two train wheels welded (weights do not rotate) to a thick bar (1.92 inches in diameter) for a total weight of 366 lbs.

Only ten men have ever lifted it overhead. This event takes place Friday from 3pm-4pm on the EXPO main stage.

Hummer Deadlift ? Contestants will lift a specially designed 14 foot long bar weighted with Hummer tires. A new Hummer tire weighs approx. 100 lbs, and the beginning weight will be approx. 700 lbs. This event takes place Friday from 4pm-5pm on the EXPO main stage.

Medicine Ball Throw ? Contestants will toss a 50 lb. medicine ball into the air in an attempt to achieve the greatest height. This event takes place Friday from 5pm-6pm on the EXPO main stage.

One Handed Overhead Dumbbell Lift (new event) ? Contestants will lift a replica of the ?Inch? dumbbell, which was made for Thomas Inch, a professional Strongman from the early 20th century.

The dumbbell weights 172 lbs. and has a very big handle, 2.5 inches in diameter. The men will use one hand at a time and lift the dumbbell overhead as many times as possible in 90 sec. This event takes place Saturday from Noon-1pm on the EXPO main stage.

Hammer of Strength ? Contestants will attempt to upend a giant Hammer 18 ft. long. Weight will be added after each completed attempt and time will be a factor determining the winner. This event takes place Saturday from 1pm-2pm on the EXPO main stage.

Farmers Walk ? In this event, contestants lift 865 lbs. of barn timbers bolted together around them. They have 30 sec. to carry the 865 lbs load up a 32 ft. inclined ramp. This is the final event of the competition held Saturday night at Veterans? Memorial Auditorium.

865 farmers walk. Thats unfucking beleiveable.

Professor X, I don’t, but I wanted to make sure somebody wasn’t insinuating he was.
Pretty unreasonable for somebody to think he achieved that naturally.

I don’t follow his career so I have no idea what gains he made in what time period. I will point out that his development is not so far beyond all others that it is impossible for someone to reach that size naturally. I also know that some of you seem to harp on that issue as if it makes a bit of difference as far as your own development. I had never heard of this guy before today. I am simply talking about his level of development. I don’t follow wrestling AT ALL and haven’t since I was about 12 years old or younger when the Junkyard Dog and Rowdy Roddy Piper had their own cartoon show…and when Piper got that movie role in “They”, or “Them” or whatever the hell the movie was called with the sunglasses.

The guy is big and more developed than most people in the gym will ever reach. It seems to be pathological to try to tear down a bodybuilder’s development in some way by making it a negative. That is what I speaking on.

For those of u who watch WWE ,at the survivor series last year bobby lashley wrestled chris master for a few minutes in a big tag match.Masters shit all over him size wise.Bobby lashley is just one of the big puffed up guys who looks impressive while standing by themselves, but put him next to HHH,masters, lesnar and he does not look as impressive as u would think.

Someone asked me what i think about master using? Who the fuck cares is what i think,so what if he uses anabolics? hell even edge’s (ex) wife says he uses steroids but he is not built like masters?
The thing that pisses me off is that people think just because someone uses steroids that they will build a perfect body.NOT TRUE at all, sure it helps but it takes a lot of dediacation, lifting heavy weights and a hell of a lot of food and considering the WWE guys spend 200 plus years on the road makes it even more impressive that they can keep their bodies in such good shape.

Cheers

Mr O

The WWE lists a lot of those guys as bigger than they are, both height and weight. Not to say they aren’t huge, but they’re not quite as big as listed.

I remember when Rodman was working with the NWO back in the WCW days, and he was a good several inches taller than Hulk Hogan – noticably taller – even though Hulk used to be listed at 6’8" – he was only a couple inches shorter than Kevin Nash, even though if I recall correctly, at the time they were claiming Nash was over 7’.
True, but this is I believe after Hulk Hogan’s multiple back surgeries. During the beginning of Hogan’s career he was indeed 6’7", but even says it himself nowadays and during most of the 90’s he was around 6’4" and lost 3 inches of height.

Kurt Angle keeps his head shaved, because he choose to take his male pattern baldness as best as a man can do and shave it. He was losing his hair quickly and had thinning.

Kurt Angle is absolutely entertaining, went to a great Raw, and can appreciate genius commentary that most people think is “stupid, weird, uncool,” sorry if it’s not the latest romantic comedy.

Three inches of height? Holy shit! How does that even happen?

It was Andre the Giant who lost a few inches towards the end of his life, a common occurrence for those afflicted with acromegaly.

Almost every measurement for a pro wrestler is overblown, and Andre was no exception, being approx 6’9 in real life and nowhere near 7’. In some territories he wrestled in, if there was another tall guy, Andre would do interviews and face-to-face confrontations standing on a phone book.

Kevin Nash is a legit 7’.

Paul Orndorff is in the COllege Footbal Hall of Fame (LB, Univ. of Tampa)

Vader (who’s just about retired now and has been wrestling in Japan) was an All-American at COlorado and 2nd round draft pick of the LA Rams. His son is a freshman at Oklahoma on a football scholarship.

Dr Death Steve Williams (also recently retired due to illness): Wrestling- 3x time All-AMerican HW, 4x Big Ten HW champ, 2x national champion runner-up
Football- 2x time All AMerican, 3x All Big Ten guard.

Goldberg played for Georgia and the Atlanta Falcons. (His brother played O-line for Minnesota and was, believe it or not, Ric Flair’s roommate.)

Ric Flair played one year of freshman football at Minnesota.

Eddie Guerrero wrestled at New Mexico for 1 yr, then left to go pro.

Shane Helms wrestled for NC State.

Perry Saturn was Airborne not a SEAL.

This could go on and on depending how far back we want to go, so I’ll just finish up with:

Junkyard Dog played some for Green Bay

Dusty Rhodes, Million DOllar Man, Tito Santana, Tully Blanchard, Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, Terry Funk, Dory Funk, all played for West Texas State, which I believe has been renamed.

Brody played in the NFL for the Redskins, I don’t think too long.

Wahoo McDaniel played for the Jets.

hey does anyone know what happened to Lex Luger?
