Are you fucking serious? HAHA, that’s awesome.
powerliftingwatch.com will get you the meet info (on the left, click “powerlifting meets” and I’m sure even YOU can figure out the search parameters. If not, PM me and I’ll find you the exact meet you should do ![]()
What’s your weight at? Upper 2’s right? So from 242-275 puts you in the 275lb class, 275-308 (I think) puts you in the 308 class, over that and it’s like, “Gorilla” or something, super heavyweight maybe?
Edit: Here’s one in TN. http://www.southernpowerlifting.com/contest.php?id=159
There’s a 259 weight class too, not sure if it matters. Should be a good fucking meet, lots of huge number I imagine. Do it.

I’m serious.
Its more about the guy Im training though. He has a need to “be in the game” and not “practicing” all the time. So, I figure if we get him competing in something he will be more motivated.
I will do it too if he’s down.

this is one is far away enough for him to have some decent gains by then…I just dont want to push him into a meet where he will get his ass kicked. That’s why Im asking…

If you want to see how he’d stand up against other lifters, you can look for results from the last time that meet was held, since a lot of people will tend to do the same meets from year to year, if they’re local and what not. You should be able to find lifters in the same weight class/age group and fins what numbers they put up.
Meets are really about beating yourself, but it’s always nice to find out you’re lifting close to the same numbers as someone else there, and you can make your attempts just a little higher than theirs
Edit: Here’s the results from that meet, held this year. http://www.bigkspowermeets.com/files/11%20bgl.htm
Also, there are always going to be people doing their first comps, even at bigger meets, so I’m sure he’ll be able to beat someone, in at least 1 lift.

Thanks.
I’ve explained the “beating yourself” thing to him but he’s always been an athlete so putting a mark in the W column is importatnt to him…
he’ll probably be around your weight class actually.

makes sense haha
like he’ll be the only newb there
that would be truamatic
Meet results from last year are not “unwordly” so we can def push that one…
totally winthin grasp
It is destiny, it is a curse
It is hell, now hell on earth
It is a vision, deep in my dreams
It is a glorious nightmare, hidden behind screens
A hollow box covered in gold, promising greatness
It is a cobra, hungry running out of patience
It is the Grim Reaper, when he is on a spree
It is a killers wish, their one pure hearted deed
It is the beautiful, eradication of humankind
It is the art of brutal murder, from soul and mind
The feeling of your heart beat, racing
As your surrounding become dark, and hazy
It is when the lights dim, in the theater
It is the power, held by a great leader
It is the love that eats away inside
It is the music in the word homicide
Death is life that soon starts over again
Death is when all the promises end
“Can you die knowing it came from pure intentions
Life after death is only an extension”

I’ve only had trouble recovering the the advanced versions. They put me to sleep for about a week afterwards.
Fst7 basic, for me, is rarely had to recover from. The pump while training hurts …with all the stretching during a session though I’m rarely sore
Oh and good stuff on making your first decent meal haha
