I hate to point out the obvious here, but if that guy lifted heavy, he could get big. I’d kill to be able to eat that big.
All he does is run, he jumps on the treadmill like a good cardio bunny after every challenge. I call bullshit on that but that’s what he says.
I’d love to get paid to smash inhuman amounts of food like he does. I’m gonna pitch my own show to food network. It’ll be just like MvF but after every challenge I’d go and destroy my squat PR.
His inconsistency in his eating ability gets me. One show he’ll down a 5lb steak with a couple of sides and bread in 1/2 an hour, then the next he’s stopped by a 4lb burrito. Discussed this with a few folks on another thread, but don’t remember which. One that really impressed me is where he ate 15 dozen raw oysters. Don’t remember his time limit but he did it in something crazy like 20 minutes. That’s alot of fucking oysters.
I think this show needs to start being discussed after every episode on here.
Just watched the Phoenix episode…
Man that last challenge was insane, he did pretty damn well eating 10/12 sliders… retarded how he had to do it in under 30min.
Those sliders aren’t even that good. I didn’t catch the show, but I have tried the sliders at “Chompie’s” (that’s where the challenge was, right?) and they’re not all that good. I can see how it would be hard to get down 12 in 30 minutes though.
Yeah they were bizarre, I’m not a fan of eggy bread, and putting essentially a hashbrown in the middle doesn’t sound all that appetizing. That challenge was all about quantity, the sheer amount of starch was crazy.
Dude, that was no hashbrown. That’s a latke [potato pancake] it’s potato, onion, egg and something else grilled to keep it together, then deep fried. Each one of those little sliders was probably between 300-400 cals. The amount of food he can put down in one sitting is nuts. Also, he’s bigger than last year. Y’all think that was strategic so he can eat more and win more challenges or just a byproduct of him hammering down all that shit?

Believe me, having a retardedly big appetite usually leads to more trouble than it’s worth.

Oh I know a latka is not a hashbrown, that’s why i said “essentially” a hashbrown for people who were not familiar with the food. I live in a Jewish area of Toronto
I don’t think him keeping his weight up was a strategic move, he probably just sucks at taking pounds off. People don’t want to see fat people on TV unless they’re insanely funny.
^^^ Haha. He’s pretty quick. Wonder how many seasons he can go before he has to shut it down? I went to the Duffy Cherry Cricket from the Denver episode and that was easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I’d be down to do some of the challenges.

This dude sucks. Not only can I not stand his nasal voice, lip-smacking-goodness sounds, but he can’t eat. I don’t see why they don’t get a real eater, like the awesome hillbilly hot dog eating champion Joey Chestnut, or even better, Sonya Thomas:
Oysters: 46 Dozen Acme Oysters/ Acme Oyster House / 10 Minutes/ Mar. 20, 2005
Eggs: 65 Hard Boiled Eggs / 6 minutes, 40 seconds

Sorry, but No Reseverations beats the hell out of Man vs. Food. I don’t care how impressive some of his meals are, the show just can’t compete.
Agreed. There needs to be a “No Reservations” thread, especially since he’s in the States now. Maybe a “Bizarre Foods,” too? Or Gordon Ramsay’s “F Word?”
One of my favorites is the pizza one in Atlanta - when his partner puked after bragging that he had made it the furthest into the challenge out of anyone.

Joey Chestnut:
Chestnut was on one episode. They were at a burrito place in Chestnut’s hometown on some college campus. Don’t remember how big the burrito was, but it was something like 8lbs and Chestnut ate it in 3 minutes. It was like watching a cartoon character tear through that burrito.
lol i’ve never seen this show…but i definaetly gotta check it out. The asian man can eat…22lbs altogether! holy fuck man…he ate so muchh pasta I couldn’t believe it. I have trouble eating half a lb. of ground beef with a little over half a lb. of pasta. Damn, thats crazy.
I think the funny thing about this show is, if you put kai greene on the show, next to him, he would put that fat ass to shame, every time. If you’ve seen the videos of him eating, you know what I’m talking about.

In honour of the real eaters, I just ate a 3lbs burrito, the Super Monster at Freebirds. That’s barely a third the size! I feel nauseous. I might go vomit.
Ok, I just looked up the episode you’re talking about. It was a 5lbs burrito. Fucking amazing.
