12 meals or bust? Bust a gut… or an artery!
It sounded like fun…until the last minute of the video.
If he had done 20 rep squats before hitting the McDonalds he would have been all set.
If I were to do this… would anything happen the next day?
… like death by the shattering of arteries?..
I’m seriously considering this.
i wonder how long he either starved himself or was on a caloric deficet before he did that.
i swear to god i think that Kobeyashi guy just starves himself and still lifts for size but just toughs it out for a couple months before a contest then just goes in and goes ballistic. i remember the first day i stopped doing a B.S. caloric deficit diet and i ate more than 5 dozen eggs and a whole ton of other shit.
Wow. Imagine if all he ate was McDonalds for 30 days.
Now thats a hardgainer

Kobeyashi was on a MTV True Life episode while back. He was eating a large pizza the day before his hotdog eating contest. It also showed him taking out 22 pounds worth of pasta in one sitting back in Japan.

Yeah, the last thing you would want to do prior to attempting to eat a huge amount of food is to starve yourself.
Your body adapts to eating less food, you want to condition it to be able to consume a huge volume of food, otherwise you’ll fill up in a hurry.
I didn’t watch the specifics of that video, but I calculated that I once ate 14,200 calories in 1 day. Not sure I would’ve wanted to make it all McDonalds…

Huh…Sounds like it would make a good movie.

Impressive. I think I have you beat though. I know for a fact there have been a few 20,000 calorie ThanksGivings in my life.
Hell, it was almost a sport. It was also not all in one sitting, however.

Ive done the same thing… plenty of times… Calorie deficit diets suck so bad but their the only way to loose bodyfat efficiently IMO.
As far as “bulking” goes, I eat between 500-1000 over matainance for a few months until my bodyfat % gets over 10%. Then I cut back calories for a while until I get back down to under 8. Diet usually consists of 3-8 meals and as clean as food as possible. No mickey d’s on my bulking phase… inbetween bulk/cut phases is game time for piggin out thou.
He didn’t even wash his hands.

Yeah in that MTV thing he talked about how during his “off season?” he eats 6 small meals a day and trains hard on the weights. If I remember correctly they showed him pulling a decently heavy deadlift. Then before contests he starts practicing stretching his stomach back out and eats insane amounts of food.
I’m sure he has the science worked out a lot more smoothly. i was just saying form my experience that when you train yourself in a way that would require a lot of calories and you dont eat when you finally give in you eat like a monster.
I talked to a BBer before who told me how the night after his contest he would just pig out and how his stomach would be huge but still have the abs lol. im also sure any PLer needing to stay in a weightclass would agree.

Is that a challenge? I have a Pizza Hut, a Cinnabon, a McDonalds, a home-made ice cream shop, and a Dunkin Donuts all within a couple miles of my house.
I do have a refeed coming up…

Y’all have caught my attention. Now, is this going to be a total calorie challenge? Or perhaps we can have weight classes as well?
I need to find that Men’s Health article on worst foods in America. Caloric density baby!

If this goes down, it should be a total calorie challenge.
Bodyweight doesn’t really matter, the 2 biggest eaters in the world (Kobeyashi (sp?) and Joey Chestnut) are both under 200lbs.
I think a stipulation should be made that the calories have to come through actual realistic food items. No chugging olive oil or any of that crap.
