Before you throw up on my post, Surge is the BEST pwo shake that money can buy. I’ve noticed a great difference in my body since I started to use it 6 months ago. I don’t argue with that and that isn’t my point.
My question is, if you were stuck with the problem of being without Surge, what would you use to make a PWO shake? This is one of those lingering questions I had last night before I could fall asleep. I hate that…
I’m thinking stuff you could pick up at a grocery store. Taste doesnt matter. If I can drink Soy-Free Veg Protein Booster (stupid buy but I refuse to throw away) I can drink anything.
Whenever I am strapped for cash I go out and buy a box of Carnation Instant Breakfast. They have like 30 grams of carbs, 9 grams of protein, a lot of vitamins, etc. I’ll throw a packet of that into my protein powder and mix it together. It’s a cheap but effective PWO shake and tastes excellent.

That’s a pretty damn good idea with the Carnation stuff, I just do the ole Gatorade/protein powder mix.

I’ve never heard of that one before. Good idea. Keep em coming. Thanks for the info.
I know you wanted to hear mainly grocery store alternatives, but I wanted to point out that in a budgeting situation Grow! Premium Whey is an excellent choice.
$29.99 for FIVE pounds and you are receiving 30 grams of whey protein per scoop. PWO throw in some simple table sugar, mix in juice, or with any high glycemic carb, and bang there you go the best alternative in a non Surge environment.
In my opinion why screw around with Carnation or chocolate milk when this is just as affordable in the long run.
