Guitar: Joe Perry
Guitar and backing vocal: Chuck Berry
Drums: Keith Moon
Bass and backing vocal: Phil Lynott
Lead Vocal: Roger Daltrey/Chris Cornell (I couldn’t possibly decide)
The fact that 3 out of the 5 in my lineup are dead may be a problem. Might not be much of a party to get them all together now…unless the living members operated some sort of elaborate pulley system.
I can’t figure out the whole band yet, but so far I have:
Bass: Les Claypool
Guitar: Buckethead
Vocals: Mike Patton
^ nice call
I just had a long discussion about dream bands a while ago, and I think I decided I’d go with:
Vocals: Mike Patton OR John Garcia (Kyuss)
Guitar: Tom Morello
Bass: Les Claypool
Drums: Mike Portnoy
My only fear with this line-up is that I’m not sure how Morello and Claypool would do together. Either it would be totally perfect and the universe would simply explode because of the awesomeness, or it might end up being like having two superstars on the same basketball team who just can’t play together.
Vox: Chino Moreno/ Atmosphere
Guitar: MattRach
Guitar: JerryC
Bass: Matt Freeman
Drums: Jordan Burns
MiniMoog: Ronald Jenkees
Since three of my guys are virtual unknowns (which is mainly why I’d like to see what they could do in this theoretical band) I thought I’d jock 'em here for anyone who cares to listen:
JerryC (Sweeping From Heaven): jerryc - sweeping from heaven - YouTube
MattRach (Cannon in D): MattRach - Canon Rock Final - YouTube
Ronald Jenkees (Stay Crunchy): "stay crunchy" - messin with an e-piano sound - YouTube
You won’t know 'em, but they’re mustard
Seriously? No one has said Freddie Mercury or David Gilmour? I guess I have to contribute then.
Freddie Mercury- Vocals, stage presence, awesome porn stache, awesome teeth.
David Gilmour- Guitar, because no one makes notes cry like Gilmour, a lot of people can play fast technical mastery, (which is cool in its own right) but you can hear how much he loves music when he plays.
(Skip to 4:10 for one of the best guitar solos ever.)
Keith Moon- Drums, destroying shit on stage.
Victor Wooten- Bass, different genre, but I think he would hang in there just fine.
My buddy Luke- Rhythm guitar. He is actually a really great bass player, but he plays guitar well too. I stuck him in there because playing with the above guys would be the greatest thing that has ever happened to him. PLUS, I can say hey I know that guitarist in that disgustingly talented band.
Jenkees is the shit! have both of his albums.
This is so hard! so many guys i want to sing! Peavy wagner, Evil chuck, Piotr, abbath, Daniel Heimann, Garm, Geoff Tate, Ihsahn, Attila. Fuck i cant even decide…
