Best Drummer Alive?

Who’s your favorite drummer?
Chris Adler (lamb of god) has got incredible talent.
Just when I thought he couldn’t get any better, Wrath was released, and what can I say? still ranks number one on my list.

how about you?

Neal “Motherfuckin’ sickest drum set in Rock” Peart

Dave Weckl

individual drum track, so it doesn’t start until about 35 sec. in.
check out 0:56-0:57 I think he’s hittin 32nd notes on the “bell” of a cymbal

I like ?uestlove’s drum beats and several others.

Neal definitely has mad skill too.

Danny Carey of Tool has my vote hands down. I had the good fortune to once have tickets that were off to the side of the stage where i could watch him the whole show. The sound quality was crap where i was sitting, but being able to watch him for the whole show was amazing.

He may not be the fastest drummer out there, but speed does not equal good when it comes to music.

Me. :)Other than that, of course Peart is THE man and he’s always on everyone’s drummer list. How about Buddy Rich? Anyone remember him?

Who?

j/k…the man is a legend!

I’ve always been quite partial to Mike Portnoy.

Slayer: Dave Lombardo

Neil Peart. It seems almost redundant mentioning him on a list of best drummers, but its almost impossible how good he is. He’s probably influenced more rock drummers than anyone else in history. Guy has won Modern Drummer’s “Drummer of the Year” award so many times (10) that they disqualified him to give other drummers a chance to be featured. He probably belongs to the most instrumentally talented rock band in history and even in that company he still manages to outshine his band mates. Etc etc…

Mike Portnoy is probably my favorite drummer.

How about Dave Weckl?

wow, did not know that.
brutal.

Carter Beauford man(of Dave Matthews Band)!
As a bassist, I find listening to his beats make me go dizzy.
The dude is incredible. Plus, he’s one of those guys that is actually left-handed but learned to play right-handed…

Dave McClain of Machine Head is pretty sick as well

Not alive, but John Bonham and Buddy Rich.

This is a tough question, so many to choose from. I am not sure how you judge this topic, from soloist to performance with the band. Some that I like are Dave Grohl (many forgot he was the drummer for Nirvana), Taylor Hawkins, Tommy Lee, Lars Ulrich, etc. Right now I am going with Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters. My reason is because I saw him perform live here about a year ago, and his solo absolutely destroyed everything else I have ever seen in my past.

Tony Royster Jr

Unbelievable!!!
