I’m going to have rotator cuff surgery in a couple days and was looking for suggestions on maintaining lower body strength and mobility while I recover which will include at least a month in a sling. I have access to a well equipped gym with free weights, weight stack leg machines, track, treadmills, etc.

Appreciate your thoughts.[/quote]
I think its gonna be pretty simple but boring, leg press if you can unlock with one arm, knee extensions, ham curls (seated) and bodyweight squats, calf raises
That’s sort of what I was thinking. My gym has several types of leg press, one has a pinned weight stack and doesn’t use a release lever so that’s where I’ll be.
You could also play with single leg exercises like Step Ups, Bulgarian Split Squats, and Pistols/1 legged squats; exercises where you only need 1 or no arms to support the weight like Belt Squats (might need help setting up though); or low leverage bodyweight lower body exercises like Sissy Squats and Natural Leg Curls (be careful and only use a ROM that you can actually pull back up from though as you don’t want to fall on the injured shoulder) or Glute Ham Raises if you have the machine.
