Maintaining Gains from One Cycle

Will spare you the details but I’ve been unable to train due to illness for the past year and previously played recreational sport to a high level. I’ve since lost about 10lbs of muscle, a fair bit of strength and put on about 10lb of fat.

I have never used before and never intended to due to not needing more size than I could gain naturally, but understand howto plan a cycle and I fully understand diet etc and have a long training history.

However I want to get back to my previous body composition and strength and would like to do it before my pre season starts - 3 months away.

Would a low dose 8 week test cycle, say 300mg pw be reasonable for this? I know people say they wil only do one cycle but I would have no need for another one back to my previous level of fitness.

In my experience, and my line of work, I can really only train hard for 3 months of the year, but my work is physically demanding. Like you I played sports at a high level and have gone through times of losing muscle mass.

With a proper diet and training tho (no gear) 10 pounds of muscle memory has been easy to put back on and strength shortly follows. I am by no means an easy gainer either. Of course test, with proper diet and training, will get you your ten pounds. But really if getting back to where you were 10 pounds ago, is all you’re after, I personally don’t believe gear is the answer. Thats just my opinion though.

But to answer your question: 300mg of Test E is a low dose for gaining muscle mass. If you plan on a short cycle using Test E (not P) I would suggest front loading it.

E.g.:

2 inject of 250mg Test E per week (Monday and Thursday)

On your first shot on Monday you inject 750mg (= 3 ampules). After that you keep injecting 250mg two times a week. After 8 weeks you stop. 2 weeks later you PCT with Nolva: 40/40/20/20. Keep Adex or other AI on hand in case of estro sides.

If you have a long training history like I did before my first cycle, you will not grow that much from 300mg of Test. Go for 500mg a week, the standard cookie cutter cycle.

Yes I would recommend hCG, it will help with the recovery post-cycle.

ok, from what i read you lost 10lbs of muscle and gained about 10lbs of fat correct?

I am with smalsh on this one,

Through proper diet and exercise you should be able to drop the 10lbs of fat and gain your 10lbs of muscle back no problem in three months.

do a cut diet till you drop the excess weight then do a clean bulk to get your 10lbs of muscle back.

This will also keep your strength in check the whole way through, unlike a quick cycle and pct which will spike strength then bring it down at the end it could have you a little off as far as knowing what you and your body is capable of.

oh and if you did a cycle and something should happen to go wrong, it could totally mess the preseason up for ya.

You can do it with out no prob.

Do a cut/weight loss diet 1-2lbs lost a week shouldn’t be a prob at all so about a month and a half max to drop it.

Leaves 6 weeks of a clean bulk to get 10lbs of muscle back and since you had it before it will come back quick.

I believe this would be the best for you to be in the best shape you can be in for preseason.
