It’s not a “pulse” fast if you are using some cheap isolate/concentrate mix. You’re gonna have a pretty steady flow of aminos in you. It’s gotta be some good quality hydrolyzed casein (MAG-10) for a rapid absorption of amino acids, “pulses”, throughout the day. You can’t do this with your typical Costco brand protein powders lol.

yea, you put it all together in the bottle your provided with wich is 2,000 ml total. but you only drink 400 ml for every pulse. So basicly you take a big swig! That’s my understanding.

Okay can someone explain the science behind what MAG-10 and the hole anaconda thing is and why it is so effective and why people are buying it because i was looking into buying it but i have no idea what it is. i am an experienced lifter but i have no idea what these “pulse fast” terms are and stuff can someone please explain thank you.

well im gonna give it a shot when i work (firefighter- every 3rd day) but using Optimum Nutrition Casein protein along with unsweetened Coconut milk and Metamucil =)
ON Casein is what i normally have as a meal when im crunched for time or before bed and it uasually holds me over nicely so it should be great for a fast… gonna give it a shot for 1-2 weeks and i’ll let u guys know how it works out.

That’s exactly opposite of what you want. MAG-10 is fast, and you’re looking for spikes in insulin with superfast protein, not a constant stream of aminos.

Well, that’s kind of the opposite of a pulse fast, and it’s not really fasting either. The casein protein you’re using is a really slow digesting protein, so it will stay in your system for several hours after ingesting. Hydrolyzed casein use in the pulse fast is the opposite. It is digested very rapidly, and actually leaves the bloodstream by the time you drink your next dose in a few hours, which creates the “pulse” of amino acids. You’re probably getting a solid amount of calories from the coconut milk as well.
I’m not saying you won’t drop some weight from only having a couple of scoops of protein and a little bit of milk for the day, but it’s not pulse fasting, or even regular fasting for that matter.

yea i feel you but i’d be taking the shake every 3 hours or so and am just looking to stay full cause sometimes we get busy as shit and i dont make it back to station for well over 4-5 hours (depends on the day) which would be the reason for me sticking to shakes, sometimes we dont have time to cook lunch/dinner or even sit and eat so a shake is quick on the go and can be premade and/or kept in the truck.
Also the unsweetened Coconut milk only has 60 cal per 8oz (5gF,0gC,2gP) and provides healthy fats besides fish oil. I’ll see how it goes tho, this option is 20 times better than eating out all dam day with the fellas at the local restaurants/fastfoods. If anything i could just switch to a Whey or something later on, i chose the Casein mainly b/c its what ive always used and had on hand for times that i cant get a meal in.
i was just trying to let you guys know an alternate route im trying to go with this whole thing… i guess u could call it more “V-dDet” than “Pulse Fasting” but its only once every 3 days, maybe i should have posted this in the V-Diet forum tho the pulse fast is what gave me the idea.

Am I reading this wrong or are you supposed to mix 4 scoops of Power Drive for your first bottle? it says on the Power Drive bottle to not exceed 2 scoops in a 24 hour period, i don’t want to be doing the jitterbug all over the gym.

Good call I didn’t notice it said not exeed 2 scoops in 24 hours. But I did my first pulse today and did the 4 scoops for the first bottle and I didn’t feel jiddery at all. Matter fact I found my self yawning at work and I was between pulses. But I did get a good pump at the gym. And now I’m 2 pulses away from finishing the day and I don’t feel like bouncing off the walls so u sould be good. U sould defenitly space the pulse days. That’s a no brainer.

They say to finish the Power Drive before 3 pm but I added one scoop to my second bottle for the day and had no problems sleeping. I’m not suggesting doing this, just saying I did it. The Power Drive adds a little thickness to the bottle, so I like it
