MAG-10 Expectations

Hey guys, I’ve read all of the info available on this site regarding MAG-10 and I’m curious what to expect from a cycle of 2 weeks of MAG-10 followed by 2 weeks of Tribex and M. I’m 5’10" and about 175 right now with BF of around 10%. I’ve been lifting for about 15 years and have my training/nutrition totally dialed in. I would be following the Massive Eating protocol as well as Poliquin’s GVT for advanced trainees. I just got out of the Marines and can finally throw cardio in the trash bin for the foreseeable future. I know what the articles say, but I’m curious what the real-world gains on the stuff have been for you guys. Thanks ahead of time for your input. Wasn’t sure if this should go here or in the Steroids thread—so here it is regardless.

Rathman,

Not to sound like a nerd as I know it’s not like a cycle of tren or anything but I’m a huge fan of Mag10 and have made some really good gains with it but just make sure you practice everything that you have read! The first two week cycle I did w double dosing I gained about 11 lbs. (I do want to point out that some of it was flab due to poor food choices) but lost about 3-5 of it in the following two weeks, although I can’t say that it wasn’t mostly due to slacking on my diet, etc and again some was possibly flab/water weight. I really noticed some strength gains the second week too.

I’ve learned that Methoxy is a really good choice to use with M and Tribex post cycle to help retain gains and harden your body, in fact if you are not going over the two week dosage before coming off I would suggest the Methoxy over the M.

I will also say that my 2nd cycle results were not as impressive though again I beleive this was likely the result of innadequate diet.

I’m about to start a 2 week cycle of Mag10 followed by 3-5 weeks of 4AD(all double dosing), and of course coming off with M, Trib, and lots of Methoxy(maybe I’ll try to post some before and after pics).

How much methoxy are you using? I’ve read that you need in the 600-800mg per day range to see any benefits.

Before when I have used Methoxy I used 2 doses a day for 2 wks., and it was more meant to help retain gains from the Mag10 and help lean out which it did well, can’t say that I added size though. I beleive to actually see quick and good size gains from methoxy you’ll want to use 3-4 doses daily for 3+ wks. After my extended cycle I plan on 3-4 doses with the Tribex as long as possible post cycle until my money runs out…

i found faster recovery, virtually no DOMS while on mag 10 and was able to eat an obsene amount of food while keeping the fat down. not a big change in strength (perhaps i was training too much) but decent muscle gain.
As far as methoxy goes i would agree that its a great option for post MAG 10 cycle. The results do tend to be dose dependent tho, and i have pretty much found more is better in this case, but i do tend to like going overboard sometimes…

I have been using massive eating for the past month, and have made “some” gains, but nothing to write home about. I’ve been using the ABB HT workout by CW, and it has been great. I’m 5’11", 180, 9% BF, 20 years old.

My main goal is to look good, not to be a powerlifter or whatnot. Would you recommend a mag-10, m (or methoxy), tribex cycle in my case? I have my diet pretty much dialed in, and just need something else to help me get over the plateau.

Thanks,

Mike

Just FYI—I ordered my MAG-10, Tribex and M yesterday. With luck I’ll be able to start the MAG-10 on Friday when I’m due to start the next phase of my GVT. I’ll post after 4 weeks and let everyone know how it went. I’m loving the Massive Eating, but it’s damn hard for me to hit the necessary calorie amounts. I’m already eating all day long. Oh well, no one said muscle was easy to come by…

I am on day 10 of my first mag-10 cycle. I just looked at fitday.com to confirm my gains: On 6/20/03 I weighed 182. Yesterday I weighed 197 pounds. I swear to god. Some is fat, but my body fat % did not rise all that much. I know that some people will not believe it, but so what. It is true. People are definately noticing, including my training partner. My strength has gone up, but I have not maxed out yet. Good luck to you.

One more thing: Please eat. When people have stated that they did not get gains, they usually say that the diet was not so great. Don’t cheat yourself: Eat big.

I appreciate your replies. Those are some awesome gains! If I get half the results you did I’ll be happy. From my searches the “eat, eat, eat” keeps popping up everywhere. So, I think I’ll come up with a homemade 1000 calorie shake and add it to my total. That’s the only way I’ll ever make 3800. I’ve also read that a majority of meals should be P+C (with EFA’s thrown in, of course), so I’m gonna give that a try. Thanks again.

Rathman,

Even 3800 seems a little low. If you take a look at the growth surge project part II, your calories should be nearing the 5k mark.

Mike

If I were to do Mag-10 again, I’d be on for at least 4 weeks straight.

im thinking about starting a four week cycle of MAG-10/ tribex and M. I’m looking to lose as much fat as possible during the 4 week period and was wondering if it would be a bad idea to take some sort of fat burner during that time, does anyone here know if it would be a good idea?

Abericombie…

A friend of mine did something similar, get some HotRox and begin it along with the Mag10, once you stop Mag10 immediately begin M, Tribex, and if you can Methoxy, keep the HotRoxx going as long as possible. Methoxy is great for hardening the physique.

Keep the diet in check too.

Meat—looks like I’ll have to go with two extra mega-shakes a day then. Holy shit. Thanks for the heads-up. I’ve read thru so many threads that the numbers from the GSP got lost in the shuffle. Guess I’ll shoot for 4500-5000 then. You guys have been a big help.

Just curious: lots of references to different workouts programs here, but very few about the Growth Surge Project. I did GSP with Mag-10 for first time in January and really was amazed at the gains. I was about to do GSP a 2nd time next week with Mag-10–I’m at a point where I can fit 2 workouts/day into the schedule–and I’m wondering if people here feel there are better programs. Is Growth Surge not popular?

The only reason I haven’t is because my current lifting facility is very limited. Unfortunately I have a limited amount of equipment available and have to tailor my workouts accordingly. I plan on trying GSP once I’m back in a good commercial gym later in the year when I can do the program justice. Plus, CP’s GVT program broke me thru a five-year plateau so I’m kinda partial to his methods right now.

I’m probably going to tend to agree with Ike. I’ve done quite a few runs with the Mag-10 and the first time I took it for 4-5 weeks double dose for the first week and single after and ate around 4000-5000 calories a day badyweight X 2 g protein 300-400 grams of carbs and honestly didn’t really watch my fat. I also creatine with 50g dextrose after I lifted and then some surge. I gained about 25 lbs and some time later kept about 15-18 lbs. Since then I’ve done a few shorter runs like recommended and made some gains 5-8 lbs and usually wind up keeping half. Overall Mag-10 is some good shit.
