In all honesy just stop giving a f***. It’s annoying but it’s not harming anything. My stepmother always gave me sh** about my food choices and often would go out of her way to try and sabotage it when I was in high school or back home from college. I have other loving realtives who are completely supportive of my goals such as my step aunt, uncle, and cousins who invited me over for dinner on my birthday and made me a whole pound of salmon. Throughout my life I have had the same thing with friends. Some were supportive, some were not, and many didn’t care but would jokingly bust my balls. I go to college right now and will often nab a bunch of turkey and beef burgers and ditch the buns. By the end of my meals I will typically have upwards of 4 plates with 4 or more buns stacked on them. Guess what I do get strange looks and questions. However I also see people imitating what I am eating and asking for advice. This is a long a** rant but basically my point is be passionate about what you do and people will respect you. If you want a whole list of comebacks to criticism’s about why your eating the way you do or why your not drowning in alcohol just ask for them caus I got a sh** load.
Well most the guys I know don’t give a shit. The ones that do are fat and older and don’t care about how they look. It’s the women that give me a hard time. Last year I was briefly dating a girl until she wanted to go out for ice cream, I told her I don’t eat it. Well she said she would never want to date someone who was so concerned with their “looks”… Well, I said fine… Unfortunately a lot of women feel that way and I lost several girls I was dating cause of that. Most want to eat out and get drinks. It really made my love life difficult. I’ve gone threw periods where I gave in and guess what happened, I got fat and looked terrible. At least my gf now doesn’t care too much but still we go over to her friends houses for diner and I feel rude saying no. Most the time I pack a meal or 2 and take a small helping if it’s something fattening.
Actually I got shit twice in the past week for not trying samples at the grocery store. I refused a brownie sample and the lady told my girl that I was a mean person… Then this girl today tried twice to get me to sample some cheese and crackers. She seemed offended that I wouldn’t take them. Both of these women were fat asses btw, go figure. Fuck them!
Usually if I explain that I’m heavily into fitness and I follow a strict diet, they understand, if they’re a guy :^P

Now THIS I can relate to. I catch a ton of shit from women whether it is at work or girls we hang with. The women at work seem to be on some “let’s bring a cake every fucking day” kick and apparently there is something wrong with me for not joining in daily.
It is really no wonder many women have a problem with their weight if they covet cupcakes the way they do. You would think someone would put two and two together eventually. It is retarded to complain about how big your hips are getting when you just polished of a German Chocolate cake for lunch.
I’m not implying anything, guys, but your experiences really make me wonder: I’ve rarely faced that kind of behaviour. There was one time a gal told me that she’d feel insecure if she was my partner since she’d feel obliged to also eat in my way without actually wanting to. Talk about self-inflicted pressure. Maybe those women feel just very insecure and even like gluttons eating right in front of bodybuilders.

It also depends on where you work. Women don’t seem to act like this if they are the minority. If there are a bunch of guys in the office, you probably won’t hear the same. Unless the Chief of Staff is in the clinic, I am the only guy there. They act like I am hurting their feelings since I won’t eat pie with them on a regular basis. They bring crap like that to work EVERYDAY. We had THREE cakes on the break room table today. One was left by the end of the day.
Couple that with them feeling cold all of the damn time and I just chalk this up to some insane cravings that gender has as a whole.
I have only had one girl I was going out with make a negative issue about me lifting weights.
From what you’re writing, I assume you tend to remain quite adamant about that.
Don’t they change their reactions once they’ve understood you don’t mean any disrespect?
How do you usually react?
Maybe you could retaliate by showing them Bambi and eating lots of dead meat…
Fat people always give me grief for my eating habits. I’m pretty happy go lucky, but that somehow pisses me off. I keep my mouth shut, smile, and keep getting hit on by their wives at coworkers parties. The number one “All that protien is bad for you” guy’s WIFE keeps saying “I wish my husband had all-o-that” and drops the roller coaster eyes on me. That’s makes it much more bearable. Too bad she’s fat too…

There aren’t a lot of women where I work but they do it too. I actually brought in some baked goods this week ( 48 servings @ 340 calories each ) and didn’t eat any of it myself (except for a shaving to make sure it tasted right. But in my defense it was by request of my male co-workers who devoured it all over two days. I was told STFU when I offered the nutritional content. So while the women bring it in, the guys manage to eat it all.
But there is almost ALWAYS fresh baked goods of some sort in the middle of our work area and most of it comes from another woman in the dept. She takes offense when I don’t try her baking.
The woman at my work bring in cakes every day too, it is quite amusing how they go on about their weight all the time despite this lol.
I don’t mind though when they urge me to eat it (makes me smile) - I just say that I don’t like sweet stuff, which is perfectly true (they seem to comprehend this more than self control and abstinence)…I then proceed to eat my greasy chicken legs like a caveman
I can’t help it, but what’s up with “me against the world” mentality? You argue that people give comments on your eating habits. What the hell should you care? Maybe you like being called a “freak”? It gives you that edge against the “ignorant” others? Maybe you should join some cult or something.

i work in IT, and no offense to any jacked IT guys… but jacked IT guys is actually an oxymoron.
i get made fun of all the time about what i eat and that i spend my friday evenings in the gym instead of downtown getting smashed at tila tequila’s.
BUT consider the source. gay for actually caring what they think.
Fuck Tila Tequila. Gym is the right choice for sure.
thank you!
tila tequila. home of the popped collar.
Thats hardly a one bar fad, not that I’m defending popped collars or Tila Tequila.

i dont see popped collars on a day to day basis. and i dont go out much. but the ONE time i go to that bar, i see every “man” sporting an erect collar. it was offensive.
This is typical of the crap brought into my office every day. Usually it’s only one item but today it’s 3. Turnovers, chocolate chip cookies, and pumpkin cheesecake. And yes, the women who bring this in do get offended when I turn it down. Especially when it’s homemade. I’m not exactly a slim dude so I don’t think they believe that I watch what I eat.

Yeah, on the menu today?
HOMEMADE PUMPKIN TARTS and CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!!!
This place would be heaven to a little fat kid.
I never knew women just sit around baking like this. No wonder they don’t have time to work out.

I was wondering if the same happens to anyone else:
You’re eating something healthy and all your friends get a bunch fried food and call you a pussy for not getting something like that.
Or right after you order something healthy they all start laughing and making fun of you.
For example, I was at eat-n-park, a local restaurant, last night and everyone orders before me. They get 2 burgers, steak hoagie, fries, mashed potatoes, and cheese sticks. I then order to the waiter 2 rosemary chicken breasts with green beans. They all began to laugh and then even the gay waiter says something.
He said: “So your friends ordered something that you eat and go to a bar to watch football after and you ordered something along the lines of eating then going to clean/organize your room after.” It actually kind of pissed me off just because it is getting old and annoying, but it also just motivates me more.
It seems like today if you eat healthy food then you are a not being a man and if you get a bunch of fried big ass burgers or w/e then you’re being manly. It kind of reminded me of that article I read a couple days ago about manly traits and also reminded me of those burger king commercials.
How about you guys?
Don’t worry about it and do what you want. That’s being a grown up.
Don’t sweat it dude, I’m pretty sure most of us here have gotten/get shit for our diets. Whether its eating healthy, non-stop during bulks, bringing your own food to a restaurant when cutting, or all three. Just don’t let anyone find out you take shots of EVOO, that is if you do. You’ll have some explaining to do when your friends order you a double shot of olive oil in front of others. true story.
