Made a mistake, help?

I did my first workout of Chad Waterbury’s anti-bodybuilding today, with the supplemental arm work included.

I tested my maxes for every lift I would do before starting… my bench was only 160 :frowning:

To follow Chad’s guidelines, 80% of 160 is about 130 (it’s 128, but I’d round up to accomodate the plate sizes accordingly). However, I used 135lbs for 10 x 3 in this workout. It was tough, but I didn’t need a spot or anything, and I did all 10 sets with 3 reps.

Next week I’ve got to do 10 x 4, and the week after, 10 x 5. Should I stick with 135lbs, which is almost 85% of my max? Do you think it’ll make a big difference?

Any advice appreciated… and boy did this workout feel easy after OVT!

if you were able to complete it there is no reason to take a step back. those percentages are just a basic guideline. everyone can handle slightly different percentages of 1rm.

Stick to the load you were using for your first workout for the subsequent 10 x 4 and 10 x 5 workouts.
