Macguyver PWO Shake

dirt broke.
out of protein powder.
lactose intolerant.

ideas?

I’m thinking 4 - 6 raw eggs, some dextrose, maybe flavor and shit
this is going ot taste horrible isn’t it.

if you put shit in it, i think it would taste horrible

get some unflavoured whey, costs fuck all

Carb drink (energade/powderade/gatorade), eggs and meat.

Perhaps not “optimal”, but you’re still going to get results.

drink some of the dextrose with water and at the same time eat a lean protein souce, maybe tuna.

Eat a meal 30 minutes before you workout.

Just eat something. You won’t wilt away to nothing without a high end PWO concoction. Eat some lean protein, some carbs, and call it good enough.

Unless you truly can’t afford powder, you’re probably better off going out and getting some rather than dipping into your more expensive whole foods.

I used to make shakes consisting of milk, chicken, and sugar. Tastes hideous, but I was broke, and it was better than nothing.

Milk, 3 eggs, 1 packet of sugarfree lime jell-o, .25c almonds, ice.

Blend in blender.

i van eat my parents food, but they wont buy me supps

If you’re mixing carbs and fats already, maybe a shake with milk, frozen yoghurt with eggs? Tastes a heck of a lot better than anything with meat in it, has quite a bit of protein and carbs, and you can eliminate the fat if you remove the yolk from the eggs.

Eat your next scheduled meal.

PWO supplementation is not the be-all-end-all of lifting. You might not even notice cutting out your PWO drink.

Or convince your parents that protein is ‘food’ because you can get it at grocery stores in yuppie neighborhoods.

or walmart…

Just said you can, not that you should…

Just mention to your mom and dad that the parents of the Menedez brothers also refused to buy them supps. I bet you’ll come home to a big ole box of goodies.

If you can’t get a protein powder (which I can’t understand, just go to the damn GNC at the mall if necessary…). Add to yogurt/cottage cheese, chocolate milk, blend. If you really can’t get the protein, more cottage cheese and yogurt into the milk. Carbs, protein, maybe toss in some milled flax seed for omegas and fat. You’re all set.

If you want more carbs, add a banana. Going to be hard to get more protein into there without some meat (good god…), tofu (let the anti-soy flames begin). I would say all natural peanutbutter, but you dont want to overload your PWO shake with fats that might slow the absorption.

If you’re terribly hard up maybe you can trick your parents into buying a premixed brand of protein shake to use as a base - thinking Odwalla, Naked, etc. There’s a lot of sugar in them by most is from fruit juices so PWO, not too terrible.

he wrote that he’s lactose intolerant, so milk and yogurt are a negative.

like otep suggested, just eat a normal meal soon after your workout.
