Lower Back Pain, Deadlifting

OK I didn’t quite know where to post this so I decided to put it here.

I was doing deadlifts on Saturday and my back hurts. The pain is kind of sharp. I bend over it hurts. I move my right leg forwards (extend it) it hurts.

I do powerlifting and I always looked to keep a good form (straight back, chest up). I never had any problems before and I only used belt from 3RM to 1RM.

Any ideas?

believe it or not, but i am not a doctor. you need to go to an orthopedist, but it sounds to me like you might have herniated a disc in your back, that would explain the pain in your leg, probably related to a sciatica.

I expressed akwardly.
When i move my leg I don’t have any pain in my legs at all. Just sharp lower back pain.

Thanks anyway.

PS: is there any good article related to lower back?

Edit: I found this thread http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=1857357 and it seems that me and other Xen have the same problem. So i guess it’s icing and resting.

It may be possible to alleviate this somewhat by stretching your hamstrings and calves on off days.

Pulling sumo might also help.

Thanks Chewie.

Never tried sumo before. Will try thanks.
