I see what you are all saying, and I understand that my descriptions are personality/character traits.
But wouldn’t having high testosterone influence those traits in one way or another?
What about all those studies done that show testosterone is linked to aggression and risk-taking, the studies that show that criminals have higher testosterone than the working class. Testosterone does effect your personality/character…
If I did have high test, I would be more confident, more aggressive, more willing to take risks (courage), and all the personality traits I am describing wouldnt be there.
I dont think anyone can deny that test influences your personality/character.[/quote]
Have you ever had it tested? At 17 yours is probably higher than most of us. Your looking for excuses for being a sissy. I’m not sure how you think a 17 year old should be. You seem normal. Are you in any sports?
This is freakin pathetic. Who was ever NOT afraid of fighting? Who was NEVER scared to talk to girls.
This dude is in high school and is learning himself how to deal in life.
We all went through it Mikey boy. Buck up and
Focus on getting smarter in class
Focus on getting stronger in the gym Focus on eating better than anyone else around you. Everything will fall into place.
You are dealing with growing up and school. Focus. Don’t worry about bullies. Ignore them for now. Laugh at them even. You’ll find them working at Burger King in 10 years.
No supplement will help with courage, balls or risk taking. Stupidity is usually a character trait behind agressiveness, physical risk taking etc.
Have you considered joining the football team? This is what ultimately helped me focus and be in a good place physically and mentally.
you are young. The shyness around chicks is normal for many guys. And also I wouldn’t put much stake into relationships with girls at your age. Focus on your academics and keeping physically fit. You will have plenty of time to engage with better women later.
Like someone else says, defend yourself when attacked. Don’t throw the first punch. The last thing you want to start is any type of violence that involves weapons or firearms.
Eventually as you mature and you gain confidence by pursuing positive goals and accomplishing them, you these things you currently worry about will seem petty.
Sure testosterone does influence behavior/character. However, there are many other influences to behavior/character: serotonin levels, environment, dopamine levels, etc.
There are MANY other factors that govern behavior/character. Testosterone is just one.
Clinically depressed people can have normal levels of test. It is ANOTHER factor that is out of whack that causes the depression.

Agreed. And its true about the BK thing. It always surprises me the dumps bullies and jerks end up in. I recall one guy that used to get me down. One day while working in my office, found out the guy was delivering water! I was hard to resist smiling…
My advice other than religiously speaking (that’s what I do), is to push through it. Even if its a few steps, or half an inch at a time. Set small goals. If you are interested in secular reading topics, “The Power of Focus” is a good read and to overcome some of your personal anxities in life. I would guess, if this is self-esteem, that it spreads farther than bullies and girls. Perhaps making phone calls, speaking in public, opening a checking account, stuff like that.
This topic got pretty far off topic pretty fast. I hear what you all are saying about how to handle bullies or shyness with girls and how to improve my life. I hear all that
But thats not the point. I posted here and my thought was that I might have low testosterone, and maybe that was causing my problems. Which obviously everyone says is not the case.
So how about this, in a nutshell;
If I started taking some kind of testosterone booster and my testosterone went up, would I be more aggressive and take more risks?
Read my last post. It is not at all off of your topic and answers your last questiom. But, in a nutshell: No, I don’t think taking a Testosterone booster is gonna make you more aggressive or take more risks. The only thing that can do that is 1-YOU and 2-Alcohol.
