I recently got a blood test and found out that I have abnormally low Insulin levels (2 mU/L, reference 6-27!) as well as very low IGF1 (22.2 nmol/L, reference 23.7-101.4) I got a second test a week later and the results were the same. The strange thing is that my blood sugar is normal despite my low insulin [fasted: 78mg/dl; after glucose beverage 125.5mg/dl (1hr.)/105.5mg/dl (2 hrs.)]
That gives me an extremely high insulin sensitivity (0.13), but very poor pancreatic cell function (50). I am 20 and have never had any complications so far. My doctor can’t explain this. Can you?
