I’d really like to know which bench shirt I should be looking into. I’d like a single ply…looser fit shirt just for training.
There are a ton…Titan F6/Katana, the entire Metal IPF line… Inzer…
Order a Inzer HPHD single ply shirt. Just go to their web site (Inzer Advance Design) and order one 1-2 sizes too big. Cut open the back and you’re set. Cutting open the back allows you to use the shirt and not have the hassle of putting it on.

^ditto^ keep it simple. don’t overthink it
I’ll disagree with a minor point: the HPHD and EHPHD are significantly overpriced junk. They give very little carryover and are very uncomfortable. You will be much happier with a Fury/Rage, and can usually find one for about the same money since the Katanas and RageXs have taken over. As reno said, just order it a size or two large.
One other thing: If you plan on using the shirt for competition, check the rules of your federation. Fully opening the back of an HPHD means you can’t use it in the IPF, WABDL, GPC and others.
houseofpain.com has some surplus Inzer shirts cheap, http://www.houseofpain3.com/product-list.html?scid=225&tsccat=145&PHPSESSID=b46935d7f8ec1de16de27fe2acdb4f34

Man thats alot of input…thanks alot guys. I can see that there is alot of dispute over which shirts are best. I guess its just an opinion type thing. A preference per say. What about the f6 single ply? On their website they have options as to what type of fit…regular…meet…and competition.
Would the regular allow me to goto the gym with it on and train? Would I be able to put it on and walk atleast somewhat normal. I don’t care if people know I have a shirt on…its not for an ego boost…however at the same time, I’d like to be able to put my arms down somewhat lol.
My buddy has a single ply f6, no dice on putting your arms down, if the shirt is something your never going to compete in I would go with an Inzer because of the price, if your competing in a shirt then I would go with Metal or Titan but thats just from what I have heard.

Not really. They’re not typically like squat briefs that you can waddle in through your workout. All my bench shirts leave me holding my arms in front of me or pretty uncomfortable – even the loose ones.
Given what you’ve said is your objective, I’d get at least the ‘regular’ fit size or maybe even one bigger. And cutting the back will make it possible (read: not necessarily easy, but possible) to pull it off by yourself between sets or after done. Even then with my open-backs I wear compression shirts underneath so they’ll slide off my arms easier.

Your not going to be wanting to walk around in it. Or doing the rest of your workout in it. Outside of benching, they are not a casual wear item.

LOL! The first thing I thought was, “What if you accessorize?”
