So I am planning on getting into equipped lifting in the new year and was wondering how would you safety train as a beginner and when solo.
Lots of safeties.
Make sure that you can never get squished or pinned. For squats the pins/chains should always be set to 1 inch below your lowest point so if you need to bail you can bail.
For bench - set the pins below your arch so you can flatten out as needed.
Mono attachments for power racks will be handy for bench, but have backup jhooks under them as needed.
I would recommend Titan single ply gear. They have 3 sizes. Get the biggest size. There will be some support and better teach you the way gear works especially of you’re solo. The bigger size will be more forgiving.
I’d recommend either the Fury or F6 shirt depending on your bench style. The Spartan squat suit is the other you’ll want.
I recommend these for a couple reasons.
-
They’re cheap but work. You won’t have any regrets spending less if you don’t like it.

Good for beginners learning gear.
I agree with the others on safety. Your best bet is a 4 post rack that usually come with the necessary safety features.
Good luck. Have fun. Be patient with the gear. It takes time. Especially the shirt.
