Look Strong, Be Strong

Great video! I was utterly charmed.

I hope you and your family are having a wonderful Christmas![/quote]

Charmed? I’m going to give this guy I paid to pose as me a $5 tip!

Shoulders…a weak point so I’m going to add in more volume and see what happens. No real plan today. Just feeling out some stuff (and getting away from the swirl of family at my house).

OHP - 4 sets
BB Shrugs - 5 sets
Seated DBs - 4 sets
Power Cleans - 4 sets
Clean and Press - 3 sets
Lateral DBs + front raises - 2 sets

Christmas was busy and kinda stressful. My wife struggles when there is too much going on. For that reason, the holidays and a +/- thing for me.

Plus she, and I, believe she is susceptible to SAD. I bought her a fancy light…I hope it works. It is a long haul until Spring.

Thats a lot of volume there dude, better eat up to keep the DOMS sprites away.

Is she taking a good does of D Git?

Holidays are usually a +/-. Especially with houseguests. Maybe the shed’s name will end up being “Haven for the Harried”.

See, with no houseguests and a fridge full of leftovers, this holiday is now totally OK with me!

I second the Vitamin D suggestion.

Joe…I just got back from a party at a friends house (fun time…the kids had a big Nerf war with their new guns. Nothing says peace and joy like a clean head shot) and had 3 bowls of chili plus other stuff. I hope it works.

N. and kimba, she does take vit D but not in the dose that I would recommend (4000+ IU). And some fish oil but mild amounts. That is a good reminder. If she sees it in writing somewhere she is more likely to do it. Time to look for an online article.

Hey Git! Glad to hear the holidays went well. Sorry to hear about your lady but I think the light is an awesome idea! sometimes i sit under my grow light and that helps tons

Now I’m wondering what Maschy is growing with that grow light.

That’s quite a bit of volume doing lots of warm up sets of conventional “and” sumo deads before you even get to your work sets, so that’s not too suprising you felt “off”.

Alot of good work going on there.

Has it warmed up a bit with you now? I noticed no gloves!

Yeah, a few too many warm-ups but it only makes sense to use the same lift to warm-up as work sets to get the pattern down and work the necessary muscles. I wasn’t fatigued…it just felt like my body was “confused”.

Yes it was warmer today…+8C. But going back down to -2C tomorrow.

Those deads looked very easy for you. You look like you have the form for this lift down pat.

light weights buddy! when are you going to put some weight on the bar?

In addition to putting weight on the bar, also f*ck the bar at the end to finish the lift (plus the ladies like it!)

Hey blame Wendler, I’m just following the progression. I’m supposed to lift 420 next week. We’ll see how that goes.

And, you are right. I’ve been feeling that I’m pulling ‘up’ too much and not ‘back’ enough. Thanks for confirming that for me. Let the bar humping commence!

Inspired by Joe and Maschy, a few lifting goals for 2011 include:

  • DL 495
  • Squat 405
  • OHP 200

  • work on some physique weaknesses
  • keep a close eye on BF%
