Found a guy locally selling a solid rack with pulleys, bars, olympic DBs, 400lbs of weights and some other stuff. Saves me a bunch of $$. He is on the fence though. Says he wants to use the stuff but is “too lazy”. Yay for lazy.

Talk him into selling it - you’ll never regret it!
I’m hoping to close the deal on Wednesday. I’m looking forward to it.
I foresee bands, chains, sled, blast straps, weight vest, T-bar setup, dip/chin belt,…the gift ideas are almost endless

Spent the afternoon digging a trench to the building for the power cable. My GPP kinda sucks…especially after the company Xmas party last night.
Tell him he can come over and use it once you have it setup, most likely you’ll never see him.
tell him he’ll have all this new space to set up a home-bar and stripper pole (what?!)

Always the ugly step-sister, I am. No hurt feelings. Truly. I’ve got a call in to the therapist, so I’m sure I’ll manage.

Might I suggest sex as a warmup to your training? Make it a five-minute quickie since you’re so pinched for time. Warms up all the muscles in your body.

I think Kimba makes an excellent point that you have no time to warm up but plenty of time to chat up the women. Priorities.
Well, my excuse is that it had been a while since you had been in to hold my feet to the fire.

Sex before training…hmmm. No doubt it is a good total body warmup.
Not sure what the women at the office will think about that (since I go at lunch time) but I’ll send out an email and see what happens.
Update on email: no takers

Cycle 5, Week 3
Bench
165 x 5
190 x 3
210 x 4…PR up from 205 x 4
190 x 5x5…PR up from 185 x 5x5

CG bench in Smith
1pps x 8
1 + 25 x 5
1 + 35 x 4
2pps x 3

DB rows…haven’t done these in months
65 x 8
75 x 7
85 x 5
110 x 11…grip
110 x 10…grip

Used 3 different spotters for bench…1. a crossfit kinda dude, 2. a woman that trains pretty seriously and 3. a bigger dude.
The instructions, “I don’t want to see your hands near the bar and I don’t want you to touch the bar unless it is heading for my face” were clearly understood by 1.; 2. got it after she ignored me on the first set and I had to repeat, 3. didn’t fucking get it even when I repeated the instruction during the set.

Anywho, felt pretty good today.
This is why for the most part I don’t even use spotters, I’ll just die on the bench.

Also, enjoy the lingerie shopping because soon you get to a point you won’t even recognize it.

What a cool way to go though!

I’d like to die buried under a massive squat.

They’d have to use the “jaws of life” to cut me out the mangled wreckage of the power cage.

I’ve only had to dump the weights once while benching. I was in high school lifting in my basement. Really surprised my parents.

Nice training Git! Interesting you use complexes as a warm-up. I use them as a finisher.

I hate asking for spotters but that’s because I bench pussy weights. I’ve even had to dump them, or more like gingerly let them slide off the bar, and still with the clinkety-clink of the plates hitting the floor no one blinked an eye sad face

Lol! Joe I’m not sure what this means, but it got my attention that’s for sure!

Thanks pretty lady.
I have been rightly chastised for not warming up so I’m trying to be a good boy. I think if I had my choice I would do a few sprints to warm-up. But that is not really practical at my gym (it will when the home gym gets set up).
I loathe everything about the treadmill so that is a struggle for me. I don’t know if I would have the zip left at the end of training to do complexes. I’m going to try it and see.

Cycle 5, Week 3
Squats
Weight = 197…man, I can’t wait to get to my goal 200. I’m going to look totally different (sarcasm)

Feeling a bit crappy with a bit of a fever and sore throat but not enough to be an excuse.
225 x 5
275 x 3
335 x 1…beeyatch. I have done more reps than this at this weight. I think the main issue is tight hip flexors (and other hip muscles) screwing up my form. I seem to squatting down instead of back. More mobility required.

275 x 5,5,5…the last set was the easiest. Probably because my hips were warmed up by then.

Hypers +35lb
x 15…weight on back of neck. Pain-in-the-ass factor to get and keep weight in position = high
x 13…weight to front of neck. Perceived effort and stress on lower back / hamstrings basically the same.

So, I’m going to try and fix my squat numbers through mobility and form. We shall see. I’m not resetting my squat max until I get completely buried.

I’m not sure what he means either.

Well done for still getting it done with a sore throat.

I once remember reading, above the neck (blocked nose, sneezing, headache etc) OK to train, below the neck (cough, chest infection) not OK.

Don’t know how true that is!

Training whilst fighting a virus is hard. Good on you for going in and getting your reps. No need to reset as long as you are getting your reps, at least that’s how I handle it.

And, I have no idea what Joe is talking about. It seems to me that your deep appreciation of lingerie (on women, of course) is unlikely to ever change.

New toys showed up today.

 • Tommy Konos size M fit perfectly
 • Toro Titanium Knee Wraps. I can get the wraps much tighter (no surprise) compared to my old, super stretchy wraps. The 2m length doesn’t give you that much to play with but it should be fine.
 • Toro lever belt 10mm. No break in will be required. Adjusted to what feels like a perfect fit.

yeah for new toys!!!
I’ve got myself a Toro too

Gear is so. much. fun.

Did you buy it from Louis? He was the provider of my most excellent birthday gifts.

How are you finding the wraps? I still hate wraps with a passion. There’s nothing like loosening them up and feeling all the blood run back into your feet.

I think I’m a bit jealous…

Didn’t get from Louis. I would have loved to support him but, frankly, I’m a point and click kinda shopper and I had some cash sitting in Paypal.

I haven’t tried the gear out yet. I picked it up at the post office on the way home. Probably could have used it for my sucktastic squats earlier today. From doing a couple of trial wraps I can tell these are going to feel quite different even though are a pretty mild wrap.

I may not even use them that much since I have the TKs. I was generally wrapping because it made my knees feel better. Ah, who am I kidding…I want the bigger numbers. I’ll be using them.

I am close to getting obsessive about repping 365 in the squat (405 single) and 455 in the DL (495 single). Hopefully, having a decent belt will help.

Yay for new toys! That belt looks super cool!

Yep. The feeling is right up there with the greatest of other feelings. The loosening of really tight wraps. Pure pleasure.
