And there wasn’t even any girls in the gym today ![]()
The last time I did chins was when I was aggressively training them to up the weight used. Ended up with tendonitis that screwed me up for months. These felt good but I’ll be smarter about adding them in.
Do you mean “smarter” by waiting to do them until there’s a cute girl in the vicinity to impress?

I only do them in front of cute girls too. I like to mock them by doing more than their boy friends. It’s kind like emasculation by proxy. Seriously though, I dropped off doing the a lot because I started getting aggravation in my left shoulder and bicep that flared up with chins and pull ups. I’ve added in rotator cuff rehab that will hopefully take care of it.

I see you have also purchased a pair of sassy pants. They fit you well ![]()
If you must know, by smarter I mean not blindly following a program even though I was getting progressively more pain. Wasn’t smart and I paid for it.

Ha!
Bicep tendonitis is what I ended up with and it was a dirty bitch to get rid of. Basically I had to train around it for about a year with movements that didn’t hurt.
Cycle 4, wk 2
PITFF = 7
This has been consistently mediocre. Training has been good but I haven’t felt like killing anybody lately…probably costing me a rep here and there.
On a lighter note, my wife has resigned from her management job. Her last day was Friday. She has been dealing with a toxic senior manager and she was battling stress and depression. Literally, she is a new woman, the clouds have parted and the sun now shines.
Of course, she needs to find a job or we’ll be eating beans and day old bread. Details.
OHP
105 x 3
120 x 3
135 x 6 (was hoping for 8)
New bar at the gym. It’s thicker but I can’t tell if it is heavier. I don’t think so.
BBB
105 x 10,10,10,10,9 (bitch…rest period too short)
Single DB clean and press (per arm)
40 x 6
50 x 6
60 x 6
65 x 6
Good work in here, G-Done.
Also, I know how your wife feels. You just can’t spend the better part of your adult life in a toxic situation and expect to be happy. Even if it means short-term sacrifices and some uncertainty.

Thanks. And I agree 100%.
I was encouraging her to leave for over a year but she felt that made her a quitter. Plus she felt like she was abandoning her team and leaving them undefended. Ultimately, you have to take care of yourself and your family. She has 3 interviews coming up with good companies. Fingers crossed.
Ncie training, you can live on day old bread and beans if your happy but you can die of misery eating steak.

Yup. She was spiralling out of control. I’m glad she pulled up before she hit the ground.
giterdone, I’m really glad there is positive news on the home front.

x2
We all know how much spousal mood/stress can affect our own lives.
Cycle 4, wk 2
PITFF = 7…I hope this ramps up for week 3
Deads
275 x 3
315 x 3
375 x 6
315 x 5,5,5 - explosive as possible
Wide grip Pullups
7,7,7
Switched to parallel hand position
7,7…felt these more in the lats. Will need to experiment more next time.
Floor press superset with Bent Over Rows. Same weight. Same reps
135 x 5
155 x 5
185 x 5
205 x 5
Note: The only rows I like on DL day are cable rows. Otherwise there is too much low back work.
Cable external rotations for cuff
3 x 10
Lateral raises…just to get some reps in. I need more shoulder width
20 x 2 x 20
Nice work in here. If you do not mind me asking what is PITFF?

Punch In The Face Factor…my measure of training intensity and/or desire to punch someone in the face (not that I would since I’m Canadian and everyone knows we would just file a formal protest)

But some of us don’t believe he’s really Canadian.

Maybe that is not even me in my avatar. I may in fact be a high school student that has a thing for hot, more experienced ladies…how YOU doin’?

This made me laugh.
