I forgot to video tape the bench press. This was the first time I didn’t get an OHP PR in over a month! Although, it was also the first time I did bench presses and rows before OHP so I’m confident that I could have gotten it had it been my first lift. I’ll save OHP PR’s for after the powerlifting meet, though. Bench press was really out of the groove today but numbers still don’t look too bad. My goal is for a 400+ bench press at this upcoming meet so I’ll have to regroove pretty quickly.

great stuff in here man, I’m excited to see how you will do in June
Thanks man! I’m pretty psyched myself. My bench press isn’t there right now but my squat and deadlift are looking pretty promising. I’m hoping for a 600+ squat and a 700+ deadlift. If I could get 400 on bench that would be nice but I’m not counting on it.

Switching to 30 sec/30 sec rest made it A LOT more difficult. I was also able to keep my intensity much higher so more work was accomplished in less time. I’ll stick to this for a while and try to get up to 30 min gradually. Felt good to get some air in my lungs.
Two PR’s in one training session I was especially happy with the 565x2 double overhand strapless pr because my grip strength has really been lacking and I’m trying to bring it up for the upcoming strongman competition. 635x2 is pretty nice as well but, honestly, it was harder than I was hoping it would be. It was only supposed to be 625 (which still would have been a PR) but I misloaded the bar.

That deadlift… Jeez thats a nice pull
Thanks man! I’m actually happier with my squat at the moment. My pull has been bigger in the past but my squat has never been above 530x1 until recently.
Bench pressing went pretty well. I was able to smoke 365 three times in a row without slowing down in my sticking point so I think that a 400 bench press is definitely possible at my meet on the 14th. The heavy bag work was absolutely brutal. I could last the first 3 rounds in a fight but after that I was toast and just wildly flinging my arms and legs at the bag lol. The strange thing was, I actually seemed to hit a lot harder when i was tired. I was just really slow and had sloppy form.
Edit: I kicked the bag so hard and so many times that my shins are killing me! I’m limping around like a cripple. I’ll have to do something else for cardio until I can recover.
I was pressed for time so I didn’t do any assistance work. 675 is a pretty significant PR for me I have one more squat session and then I’ll deload for the meet!
