I’m not sure why, I just really, really did not want to do Farmers Walks today so I did this circuit instead for three rounds. It was harder than hell so I still had a good training session. I don’t feel completely worn down either because I never had to handle any weights that were particularly heavy. I should be good to go tomorrow as I’m hoping for an overhead press PR.

I didn’t think I was going to get the OHP PR. 225x3 was really hard but I just got psyched up and 240x3 went pretty well. Next week is 250x2 and I think I’ll be able to do it.

Thanks man! More to come tomorrow. My goal is 250x2.

You’re killing it on squats. PR’s every week lol. Jealous of that overhead too.

I usually use bands to help me do chin ups but today I just did a single pull up or chin up between every set with no bands. This probably sounds like a joke to most people but I weigh 350lbs so just being able to do 1 wide grip pull up with no assistance is quite a feat. I’ve been trying to get strong enough to rep out pull ups at this weight forever and today was the first time I ever came this close.

This training session started off really well. 655x2 flew up like it was nothing. I probably could have hit 700x2 but I have to stick with the weights I’m scheduled for. I’ve always had a bad habit of biting off more than I can chew and hitting a plateau so now I have to constantly remind myself that I’m here to build strength, not display strength. If my scheduled weights are too easy that simply means that my program is working better than expected. Going heavier could jeopardize that.

I decided to do a powerlifting meet in June because it’s nearby my house and why the hell not? I’m not really going to change my training at all since I’ve been getting consistently stronger with this training method. Plus, I don’t want to try and peak for the meet because I might not be back to full strength by the time the strongman competition rolls around in July.

HIIT on the heavy bag

I swapped to no knee wraps because of my upcoming APF meet which was a little humbling. I still beat my previous with-wraps PR but it was really difficult. I had to do penance for staying up late and drinking beer last night so I added the log presses and HIIT on the end which was also a bitch. Great marathon training session.

Any person that does real zerchers has my utmost respect. You sir are a man.

This was my first time doing Zercher Squats so I didn’t go very heavy and the technique felt a little shaky. The camera angle is slightly off so it looks like I was squatting crooked.
