Now I’ve had some time to give it a couple reads. I see a lot of familiar elements, but I like the way you’ve put them together. And thank you for the comprehensive response; quite a bit more detail than I expected.
So you stick with basically a 3 week cycle? Are there any “deloads” other than just waving the intensity?
How did you settle on the “drop to 80% of the daily max and do 3x5-8”?
Did you ever spend some time with higher frequency approaches? It looks to me as if you did 5/3/1 for a bit, kept the basic layout and then modified from there. How long have you been using your current approach?[/quote]
I uave tried several different approaches but I have never made gains like I have in the past 9 months since I started this basic template. I didn’t get 3x5-8@80% from anywhere. It just seemed about right so that’s what I started doing for volume and it work3d well so I kept it. I also really like the 10 singles every minute on the minute approach as well. I added 200lbs to my total while losing 50lbs in 10 months using this approach.
Nice training session! Presses felt weak but I suppose that’s from incline benching first. I got a hellacious pump and looked like an off-season bodybuilder which was cool since I normally just look like a fat ogre haha.
I wasn’t planning on lifting today but I knocked the heavy bag out of the ceiling before I was done hitting it. 365x2 was fairly easy, especially for having just benched the day before.
I haven’t been taking videos lately because my wife’s phone was stolen so she’s using mine a lot at the moment and it’s constantly either misplaced or dead. Her phone is supposed to come in today or tomorrow so I’ll start taking videos again.
Plate Curls…ss…plate lat raises
25x20-25x10
25x10-25x10
Starting out I felt a little stiff and sore in my elbows and pec insertions but after a couple sets I felt great. The video of my speed benches was probably my worst set of the day.
