I would like to add farmer’s walks to the Wendler 531 program, the “Boring But Big” variation to be exact.
Has anyone added loaded carries to 531? How would you guys recommend I go about this?
As conditioning.
I just started doing those with 531 this week. I second conditioning as well. I do them after weights before my jump rope routine.
We use the farmer walks on lower body days and either sprints or sled pushes on upper body days.
If traing on a 3day a week program add in a “strongman day” on Saturdays
- Farmer walks
- sledgehammer
- Tire flips
- Kettlebell/barrel toss
- Heavy rope drag
- Sled pushes
We pick 3 exercise and 5 rounds of exercises
