This workout sucked. No energy. Joints hurt. Been cold all day, and took me forever to feel warm. Felt generally weak and shitty.
I hate leaving a workout with this feeling. Meh.
And my daughter has decided to go to the far away school. I am proud that I have raised a daughter with enough confidence and self-assurance to want to go away and be independent. Now, I am gonna go cry til September.
It was almost a year ago that my younger daughter had an accident in our pool, and to those who have read that part of my log, she drowned and was in the Picu for 10 days on life support.
A year has passed and my daughters school called me yesterday saying she was nominated by her teachers for a student excellence award for perserverance and work ethic through kiwanas club. She has been so amazing and strong, and I get very emotional thinking of where we were last year, to where we are now.
Just a reminder to appreciate what you have, and who you love. It can all be gone in the blink of an eye.
I think I am going to enjoy my day off and soak up some sun. Plus I woke with a fucked up neck and canāt press today anyhow.
I know that feel too well. Im thinking about sucking it up, saving some money and splurging on an $80 pillow

I have the $80 pillow, and yet on occassion I get this left neck/shoulder nerve pinch. I think it might be the WAY I sleepā¦arm under head on my side. I find my shoulder girdle is very aggrevated by this, and have tried to sleep in a different wayā¦but I always find myself eventually in that positionā¦grrrrrā¦
Yesterday I was in pain all day, went through 3 icy hots (I put that shit on everything) and 500 mg naproxen to no avail. I woke this morning with less pain, but it is still there.
You are still youngā¦wait til you are older and everything just hurts for no bloody reason!
I donāt know what my body is doing but I am gaining size and leaning out a bit.

Yeah from research Ive done, this is a definitely a contributing factor.
I know the struggle, Ive been trying to sleep on my back more because that is the āsafestā sleep position, but I snore when I sleep on my back so my GF will shove me if I get too loud and I end up rolling over in my sleep.
Lol at the snoringā¦I mean all we want is a good nights sleep without pain, am I right??

Felt strong as fuck today switched press day for squats given my neck/shoulder pain. It was a bit tender with the bar on my trap, but not too bad.
I continually seem to have left lower back exhaustion with sumo deadsā¦is this normal? I skipped front squats today because of the lower back and neck issues.

And I sleep the same way: on my side with that shoulder tucked right under me. Iāve found it helps me to tuck a small pillow or even a stuffed animal behind my back so that I can use it to support me leaning back some instead of more forward and crushing that shoulder.
@jamie1888- that is a great trickā¦I will try that! I have just been tucking the arm underneath me to try to alleviate the stress on my shoulder joint.
When you love sleeping as much as I do (and do so much of it) itās great when you can wake up rested and not sore!

I start my 72 hours/week tommorrow, so I am gonna try and get to the gym wed and friday (days off) but I am not planning much more then that because I expect this week to be rough.
Good or bad? My 14 year old fits in my clothes now, and she is the smallest in her class.
Last night she tried on some of my dresses for her award ceromony and I was shocked she fit into them so well. I guess I should be happy I am the size of a 14 year old? Or notā¦lol!

I would personally say good. If you are having good strength gains in the gym while staying at your daughterās size, then I would say that you are doing a good job.
Hereās my bias though: I think itās kind of nice to be at a reasonably low bodyweight so that you can more easily climb things, jump onto stuff, outrun people younger than you, and swing from trees when you need to evade marauding bandits. Pure strength is awesome too, but being lean and mean has its benefits
Sorry, Iām slacking off. Iām a bit tired and just donāt have the energy to engage this weekend. Last nightās baseball game got over at 10:15pm so I got home a bit earlier than expected. I only worked 14.25 hours. Back to the field tonight after work and then another 10 hour shift tomorrow before my three days off.
My 14 year old is 5ā8", 180 lbs.
@muskratlifts- regarding low body fat and moving around easyā¦well at 41 I can go to the trampoline park with my daughter and do back tucks and front flipsā¦so I am good. Running away? Well thatās where my age showsā¦I have bunions I canāt run, but I am little and scrappyā¦so I think I am good!
@Frank_C- you are really burning the candle at both endsā¦you must be wearing yourself out with all the stuff on your plate. Please do something for yourself (besides working out) on your 3 days off!!! I think you will need it!

Thatās some awful working weeks youāre putting in.
Being fit, lean, mean and badass is never a bad thing.
But there should be room to do other stuff than lifting weights.
And a day in a trampoline park sounds fun ![]()
Shut the brain off and grind through that looooong working week.
It is going to be a long week, and that is why I did some enjoyable things this weekend.
Saw Deadpool 2 last night. Fun movie. What was better though is having my 2 teenage girls want to spend time with mom and dad on a Saturday night to go see it!
I also took my daughters out to get their graduation dresses. My 18 year old found hers in 10 minutes. My 14 year old took hours, mainly because she is so small, and we could not find anything. We found her a beautiful dress that needed alterations, but they are both happy and will look beautiful!
