Little Boxing Club

I had no fucking clue what to call this post. oh well. A little background: My bro and I have boxed and wrestled around since we can remember. He’s leaving for the Marines with our best friend in a little over a month. We’re always messing around with fighting, and I figured it’s just natural that we start a little fight club kinda thing. We’ve all have some equipment (gloves, headgear, etc.) and we’ve all got a little experience doing stuff like this. Anybody have any suggestions or comments that might possibly help us out?

Seriously in all honesty, not to mess with your plan…but i seriously doubt that you guys have the skills to coach each other productively…
i mean do you guys want to just fight each other or do you guys seriously want to get better? other than that section off an area in a backyard with rope and have a stop watch and someone with experience acting as a ref.

I know what you mean. I myself am not really trying to do anything other than see what I can do with my little experience against my friends. There’s quite a few professional boxing and fighting places around here, so if I wanted to really do something with that, I would just go to one of those.

in that case then make sure you guys got headgear and mouthpieces, try to make it clear to each other that nothing’s personal and to have good sportsmanship…but be careful cuz boxing is something that you can get fucked up if you don’t know what you’re doin…have fun

yeah, I’ve done stuff like this before, and people let their egos get in the way and it fucks things up very quickly. at most, it would be about 10 people who have known each other their whole lives, so I doubt there will be much of a problem with us. thanks for the input though.

Before reading the content I envisioned midget boxing…

Go learn how to box. Otherwise leave it alone.

If you want to beat the crap out of each other in your garage, don’t litter the forum with talking about it.

Lord forgive me, I done littered the fuck out of this forum. As if it were impossible to not even look at this post. I suppose I should apologize to everyone for so rudely demanding comments about something absolutely should not be on a “combat-sports” forum. Must be quite a fucking stretch for some people to go out of their way to be helpful to any anonymous person merely asking a question.

You’re talking to people that have spent hours, months, and years in dojos and training halls, along with countless gym time to prepare for such things.

Again, you want to beat the crap out of each other in a garage, go to it. But don’t litter the forum filled with people who train seriously for competition or street defense.

Apparently, no one has ever heard the proverb “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Sorry I can’t suddenly become a 30-some year old with years of experience. Honestly, going out and fighting with no particular style or even knowledge probably has a little better carry-over in a street fight, because I doubt anyone’s robbed by fucking Karate Kid.

[Edit] I don’t know if this is conceding defeat or not, but fuck it dude. It’s a forum. You don’t know me, and I’ll never know you. I don’t want to fight about it. If I only knew how to delete a post.

Enough said.
