I find that politely but bluntly pointing out a personās stupidity helps them to realize, āHey, I am being stupidā.
Something happened today that made me feel slightly like an ass-hate, you can all be the judge. I was in the half-rack at my gym doing barbell push presses. I had JUST arrived and loaded my first set onto the bar when a little blonde girl walks over to me and asks, āDo you know how many sets you have left?ā to which I reply, āIām actually just getting startedā¦what were you going to be doing?ā
She tells me she was going to do deadliftsā¦I point to the full rack which is empty and has a barbell and then another barbell in the corner and suggest other locations that are free that seemed like perfectly reasonable places to do deadlifts. She replies with, āNo, thatās ok, Iāll just go do some lunges over hereā¦ā I feel like I took the neccessary steps to offer suggestions and wasnāt unreasonable but I still felt guilty.
I meanā¦you canāt even do deadlifts in a half rack, Iām thinking she was just a little inexperienced and that was the only location she typically did them and not even in the half rack but just outside of it.

i take a lot of time in the squat rack, and listen now, when iām squatting heavy(for me), i need to rest a little more than 1 minute. iām not trying to speed through my squats to get them over with so someone else can use the rack. my ass needs squats.

So these two dumbasses decide to do legs today. Iām on one sled and they are working the other. They decide to take two of the 3 wheels off the sled. Why you ask - 1 cause their little shits who actually have no business in the gym taking up space. 2 because they wanted to take turns riding on the platform.
So the one little guy struggles to life the other. Iām staring at them and chuckling because they weighed 200lbs combined. I say to them - its only cool when bitches ride the platform. They left and went to go curl 20lb dumbells.

I will be a huge asshole to guys that donāt rerack their plates.
I love it when I wait for someone to finish up and they start to walk off once they finish without unloading the bar or machine. I generally say āhey, you wanna re-rack your shit?ā I think will stair at them (not helping) and then immediately start putting plates back on when they get them all unloaded.
To be clear, If a person asks what I want, or goes to unload it, Iāll help and have them leave what I want on it. I only do it to people who just go to walk off.
