Limp Handshakes

What’s your initial thoughts upon receiving a limp handshake?

I usually find guys with limp handshakes, to be devious and very untrustworthy.

And probably want to bumrape me.

I hate it when people have cold wet hands for no reason.

I always try to destroy the other dudes hand though. I love the little “holy shit dude” way they tear up. Its adorable. I think it sets the tone for dominance in the new relationship if we are talking about first time meetings. Ive had bosses ho were assholes to everyone else submit to me…i believe that first handshake was the reason

They are just as faggy as overly aggressive handshakes. No really a fan of handshakes in general, but if you are going to give one don’t limp wrist it and don’t turn it into a wrestling match.

Potential meat…

…Quite ominous in retrospect that joke isn’t it? Normally with limp handshakes I run through possibles of the person being physically lacking, passive enough to not concentrate on the strength of his grip, unenthused at the thought of being in the conversation/interaction etc.

I don’t think I’ve ever found a good reason behind a fish hand. Usually I just run the above behind the person’s personality type and come to a conclusion on which assumes may have been correct and which likely aren’t.

I find it very odd, there is a Security Guard where I work that always holds his hand out for a handshake to say goodbye, he is a nice guy very respectful, will always stand up when I leave (which makes me uncomfortable). When I go to shake his hand he does not grip at all, he just lets me grip and shake his hand. Almost like he’s making me shake his hand

hey…wait a minute

He Jedi’ed you

My wife works in finance, the guys are all suits and most of them have the dead-fish hand shake. Most are all pretty much non-athletic as well. I try not to break their prissy little girl hands.

When I had my shoulder injury a couple of years back, I would run into this one friend who is a construction worker. That guy could rip my arm out of the socket is he wanted to. I had to tell him to go easy on the hand shake.

Rob

Does not bother me half as much as when they try to just grab my fingers. What the hell is that about?

Ewwwwwwwww!!!

I am also not a fan of the overtly alpha macho display of diliberately over squeezing to astablish primal dominance.

You go solid firm handshake or i call you out for limp wristing or posteruring.

I’m with Testy on this one. I think I’d almost prefer the dead-fish to the overly aggressive bone-crusher. Whenever people shake my hand like that, my initial thought is that they are overcompensating for something else. Kind of like chubby old guys driving Corvettes, it’s just another penis-extender. My ideal handshake is a firm one or two pumps and then get down to business.

great minds think alike. Unless of course they are both wrong.

Hes gonna make me shake his hand in an hour, we will see how it goes, and I will smell my hand after.

You should just stare him coldly in the eyes with absolutely no change in expression, and shake his forearm instead. Don’t even recognise it, just straight grab his forearm and shake it up and down once or twice, then turn and walk away.

Then throw a match behind you And as he explodes in flames walk in slow motion back to the office.

Sometimes you just miss/misjudge the distance.

I just say “I missed, let’s try that again!”

A sign of submissiveness
