LIMITS

I dont think thats a good idea tbh Smashingweights Prof X has a point to make and should be listened to even if you dont agree

There was a day when most of us skimmed past his posts and it resulted in his arrogant bullshit ruling the forums. This is a guy with 50,000 posts, each one more argumentative than the last. He shouted down everyone else for years and is now getting some thrown back in his face.

I think it’s hilarious.

What is strange is that they have to come into threads I started to keep this up.
You, I and everyone reading this thread knows exactly why you started this thread so please, spare us.
Smashingweights wrote:

I am not going to get into a “debate” but just think about where most “limits” come from? Human experience.
What human experience? People are saying that it can’t be done while others are sayi they did it. That would mean human experience disagrees with it.

Exactly. However, Brick has specifically stated that no human can do this naturally. No one found an issue with that when he said it.
I’ve seen a countless number of requests for someone to post a photo of someone who has surpassed these “limits” of 80 pounds or whatever it is and, to my knowledge, no one has posted a photo to disprove the limit? If I missed such a photo then reporting it here should clear things up rather quickly. If such a photo was already posted then this “debate” would have basically ended at that point. So I’m guessing that it hasn’t been posted yet?
The only argument they have is that apparently you have to be in contest shape for it to count…which makes no sense as that means ignoring everyone else who isn’t in contest shape.

Really? I started it because setting a limit that close to what people are doing makes no sense and I am making that point heard.

What other reason is there?

I flat out disagreed with it and made a thread about it. I also stated very well WHY I disagreed with it.
steven alex wrote:

Aww big guy dont be up yourself so much, people arent agreeing with him to disagree with you ( what an arrogant self absorbed fuck you are at times ) the people who agree with him agree with his point which he puts very well.
Then if you agree with it, then you tell me where this “80lbs limit” is coming from and this “15 year limit”.
When Brick first started mentioning these #s, it was openly attributed to many industry folks (PHDs, Doctors, Coaches etc) who have all come to a similar rough estimate of how far the human body has been able to be pushed in the last 50 or so years. That’s it. Your reaction to this, from seemingly taking it as a personal attack, to directing rebuttals and noticeable animosity solely at Brick (there are a good number of industry people who have been named in this thread, who express similar beliefs, but they have better things to do than hang around on an online forum arguing) is baffling.

Why not just disagree, content with the fact that you have shattered these imaginary limits of human biology? You’ve always maintained your opinions supported with “this worked for me.” No question, this is a perfectly viable method of belief. On the other hand, Brick has,as supporting his beliefs, similarly thinking “experts” who have studied the science of muscle building extensively and reduced their findings to writings which are readily available online. He didn’t make it up himself, and it’s certainly not the attack that I’m sure many reading this sh-t storms agree that you always interpret it to be.

I never said I agreed with the eighty pound limit but I am sure this argument has went through so many twists and turns I dont think everyone is arguing over the same thing anymore. Its kind of interesting though that despite him asking time and time again no-one has posted pics of someone doing this. Do I believe it? Sitting on the fence I am affraid, but for arguments sake say I said a five hundred pound limit is that doable? I mean its a limit. As for the fifteen year thing I will have to read what he wrote as I hardly ever read all posts in a thread
I posted my pictures as someone who did it and mentioned Kingbeef who has done it.

I am not sure why this counts as “no one” but oh well.
Why post pics of yourself? Isnt there anyone else who could pass as a more documented case?

I am asking once again where the proof is of this and who is being looked at.

Why is it no one can answer this question? It is like name dropping. I don’t care who agrees with it if no one has any proof of it.

Also, we already mentioned that it is doubtful any of these guys started training after the age of full maturity.

Baffling? He literally stated that no natural could do this. He did not say it in relation to ONLY what has been seen in contests and he did not state that it could be surpassed if someon were not in contest shape.

Why be against me asking for where this is coming from?

Because it was stated that it was IMPOSSIBLE. For someone to state that, I would hope it is based on more than hearsay.

I know that is what is happening SS, I have been here since 2006 and have seen it first hand. The thing about it is that nothing is going to change. People can finally “stand up” to Professor X and “throw it back in his face” but it really is just dragging the forum down. Yeah it’s funny to read and I participated in the 80-100 pound chest hair thread but it really does take away from the potential of this forum.

There is a wealth of knowledge and experience on this board and that knowledge is not being shared. That may not effect you or I or others who are intermediate or above lifters but its the noobs who are being screwed over.

I remember coming here as a wide eyed and busy failed noobie and gained so much knowledge. There were a lot of helpful posters who shared their experiences. The new guys coming here today will just see bickering and dogs chasing their tails round and round in every thread. Look what has already happened to the BSL forum. Is The Might Stu posting in here anymore? Is Chris Collucci posting in here anymore? Is CT posting in here anymore? Is Bryn Kahn posting in here anymore?

This sub forum has been around for a month or two now and already has lost 4 of the most knowledgable posters ok this entire site! Stronghold prepped Dezathlon (sp?) for a meet where he totaled elite, it would be nice to hear some nutrition and programming advice from him but he doesn’t post. Dez was the one who actually totaled elite and could probably share a wealth of knowledge but his thread was invaded and turned to crap. BrickHead is a RD and has tried to share knowledge but he’s been shouted down by several here. MarauderMeat left the site on a bet but he admitted that the way the forums were going was what pushed him to his limit. I won’t even get into others who aren’t posting on the site but are accomplished BB’er with amazing physiques like Zraw and Captain Quads (can’t remember his screen name but was a natural BBer with crazy legs!!! He had a contest prep log)

All of this potential help is gone. We could make this place about helping each other and helping out new guys but it has turned into one big pissing match. A simple “agree to disagree” every now and then would go a long way but I know what will happen.

/rant that no one will listen to lol

Because I have no idea of who this King beef is. Why do you always feel people are singling you out? I was only asking if Bricks claims were ludicrous about gains of eighty pounds there would be lots of pics from all over the web and perhaps blogs and stuff

I know what you mean. The thing is, no matter how civil everyone else is PX is always an argumentative dick. He is the reason a lot of those guys don’t post here. Besides, I think this forum was made to siphon the BS out of the BB forum, which it has. So, mission accomplished I guess.

Theae are serious questions and are not intended to drag on this debate. Do you know KingBeef personally? Do you know what his current height weight and body fat percentage are vs where he started? I have not seen him post consistently here in a long time and have not seen any updated stats regarding his progress, which I will easily admit is incredible.

I only ask because you have repeatedly used him as an example of someone who has gained 80+ pounds of muscle from weight training. Thanks.

That is why I suggested that all parties involved should ignore one another. I agree that this forum was created to drag the BS from the bodybuilding forum, so in that regard it has worked, but this is where a lot of noobs are bound to end up and could be a wealth of knowledge.

Bottom line, there is no basis for this specific “80lbs limit”…
It’s 80 lbs of MUSCLE…sweet jesus…you never add that part, ever.

Tons of natty’s have put on 80 fucking pounds…but show us a lifetime natty who put on 80lbs of MUSCLE.

I used him as an example because he posted his pics before he started and he is much larger now. I can only go by his pictures. I simply stated that I was 15lbs as a newb with 11% body fat. That would mean a 210lbs lean body mass is 80lbs of lean body mass gained.

I am not sure what you want to know besides that.

As I stated in the other thread, you did NOT do what you are arguing. You are arguing that it’s possible to gain 80lbs of muscle naturally. You have admitted to using prohormones in the past, which, for all intended purposes, are steroids.

I have no idea if kingbeef used or not, so if he is clean, then he might have accomplished what you are arguing, but you have not.
