Well, now. That opener didn’t look too hard. Amazing how much work it can be to bring that bar down just right.

It wasn’t really that hard, just to control the weight down it’s slow…I can’t even feel when it touches, kinda different.
Sun 2/27/22 - DE Lower
Speed box squats / Raw
warmups
dbl monster minis box w/ 2 plates
95 x 2 too much tension in hips
75 x 2 x 5
take 1 plate off
75 x 2 x 5
Hypers; 3 sets of 20
Leg Ext; 3 sets of 20
Good girl/Bad girl; 3 sets of 20
Light band curls; 4 sets of 20
Abs
20 minutes incline walk on treadmill
Starting water cut, about 5#'s to cut for weigh in on Friday morning, so not bad at all
My planned openers are:
Squat: 400
Bench: 295
DL: 335
You seriously can’t feel it when the bar touches your chest? Will someone cue you from the wings then? I have a hard time bringing the bar down in bench because I have so little weight on the bar.
Your openers cracked me up compared to my planned openers. Your squat opener is a bit more than double mine. Your bench opener is more than triple mine! But your DL opener is only 1.48x mine, which is about equal pound for pound with my opener. So there’s a little consolation there.
Hope the five pounds drops off like nothing (what’s your weight class?) and that everything goes well at your first geared meet. I’m always a bit more nervous when competing geared because of the timing that is involved with the suiting up and wrapping and going to the bathroom. But it seems like you’ve got a gaggle of great handlers to take care of all of that (except for the bathroom). Take vids and have a wonderful time. Can’t wait to hear the results.
5 pounds is nothin, you’ll cut that easy with water depletion.
some killer openers :)!
I love watching your vids!! And its interesting to hear what kind of feedback you need to work on. I love that its “don’t yell” HAH! That’s kind of beyond bad-ass.
Super killer openers!
I can’t believe that you have to start cutting water now. Interesting!
I covet your openers.
Snap - the only thing I think about when benching is grip the bar as tight as possible, belly pushed up, tuck elbows when it gets tough and just wait for that press call, then make the bar shoot to the ceiling…
and don’t make me nervous thinking about the timing and getting my gear set…I already over analyze everything too! I’m putting my trust in my team to lead me for this first geared meet. I have all my warmup weights down for each lift, so I need to just trust the plan and stop thinking so much.
Brute/Mashy/nlmain - thanks, water cut is superhydration for Sun/Mon/Tues/Wed then cut water/food around noon on Thurs, suana if necessary Thurs or Fri morning. The weight falls off on Thurs, want to lose the most weight in the shortest time possible to keep strength at a maximum, they rehydrate as soon as weigh in are over.
fyi, I’ll probably be posting my lifts on my FB account on Sat if anyone is interested.
I would love to facebook stalk you! NO ,I wouldn’t stalk you…just haunt your lifting info like i do here! I’m on FB under Brute Fury if you want ![]()
I’m so excited to hear the results! such a superstar!

Me too. That whole “making weight” thing doesn’t sound that bad. Guess I imagined it was more complicated.
I’m channeling your beastly strength tomorrow lilP.
kick some ass! your total should be like 2 grand right? ![]()
Get your ass in here V and tell people the good news!!
I know she’s a beast but she made us proud ladies. Now I’ll hush before I spill the beans.

ok…I was traveling back to AL today after watching the big boys smash World Records today! Nose bloods during big squats = Real Bad Ass !
My day yesterday was pretty awesome, after training for 8-10 weeks in single ply gear, I had 3 main goals…
- Do NOT Bomb
- Hit a Pro total - 1080 pound total
- Hit a 1200 total
2 out of 3 wasn’t bad…lol
Squats…
opener -400 - easy
2nd -450, went down too slow, got out of hole but suit caught me by surprise about 1/2 way up and I bobbled at the top - red lights
3rd -450 again, tighten straps some, went down a touch faster, and bam, right back up- good lift
Bench…
Opener -295, easy, good lift
2nd -325, flew off the chest, slow at lockout, but got it, good lift
3rd -350, flew off the chest, but just couldn’t get it locked out, no good
Deadlift…
Opener -330, good
2nd -360, good, tied for old PR
3rd -380, good, 20# PR
Totalled 1155 lbs, met 1st 2 goals for my first geared meet.
Got Elite and Pro totals in the Single ply 165 lb class. Weighed in at 160 on the nose.
Will try to get the video posted tomorrow and maybe some candid shots of the meet too.
My son also did raw bench only, weighed in at 145 and benched 230, that’s a 40# PR for him.
Simply amazing numbers! Wow. Sounds like you had great success at your first geared meet.
I’m wondering. You said you tightened straps on your squat suit after your second attempt. How’d you do that? USAPL has very strict rules about straps. There’s no way to adjust during a meet that I’m aware of.
You must be feeling on top of the world. Can’t wait to see the vids.
You totally rock.
Wow. Congratulations are definitely in order. Can’t wait to see the vids.
you made those look so easy ![]()
You are in a whole new universe of awesome! I’m so proud of you!! :D!!!
Loved, loved your vid. The rules of your fed are SO different than my fed. Interesting to see the variations.
Just awesome stuff. Can’t wait to see what’s coming from you.
Vikki, that was UNBELIEVABLE! Strong, strong effort. You are amazingly good at this, and getting better all the time. YEAH!
aw, i’m sorry i missed the build up to your meet. you made those deadlifts look easy! awesome lifting ![]()
