Random : I’m a terrible cook and have always dreaded my meal prep sessions. But I bought Erin Stern’s bodybuilding prep book, and damn, it changed everything. Everything is so simple, and balanced, and now my food actually tastes good!! I’ve made mini turkey meatloaf, turkey sliders, chicken veggie pasta, oregano chicken thighs, and yesterday I made spicy chicken thighs with roasted sweet potatoes.

I still have more recipes to try, but I’m plugging away! Who00p

Notes : My pauses aren’t super long and I don’t care, LOL.

I mean that because I’m only pausing to force both of my glutes to fire evenly. I’ve always had some hip shifty, inactive glute things going on, and oddly enough, I actually feel stronger paused squatting than not because of having better control overall.

I’m saying this even though it’s likely nobody was even thinking about my pause duration or even watched the video, HAHAH.

I just had to get it out because I woke up to an annoying comment on my channel and since I don’t like confrontation I just delete them and then argue with them in my head for the rest of the day :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

Anyway, fantastic workout overall. Tons of energy, body felt great.

I know I’m not on these board much, but I really need some support right now.

As you know, I recently decided to pursue my dream of becoming a personal trainer. The fitness centre job was a scam, so I’m trying to create my own training business. For anyone that knows my history here, you know that I have a lot of anxiety and I’m deeply insecure. I’m trying to do this anyway. It takes every ounce of strength I have to believe in myself. Sets are 170lbs, 185lbs, 195lbs, and 205lbs. I left this workout feeling like it was maybe the best one of my life. I know I don’t squat ATG, I don’t really care, with my femur to tibia ratio, I’ve found this to be somewhat ideal. This email from this person has crushed me. It’s taken me my entire lifting life to have this strength. I know it’s nothing out of this world. But it’s mine. And I was really proud of it. I thought these squats were wonderful. I just can’t fully express how hurt I feel right now. I doubt so many things. I don’t want anyone to lie to appease me, but any support would mean a lot right now.

Having watched you progress over the last few years and reading your logs, I strongly urge you to ignore this email and move on.

There are coaches and there are coaches. If I were 6’5” and 275 lbs at 15% bodyfat looking to get to 5% for Mr. Olympia, you’re probably not my first choice. That means .001% of the population isn’t in your target audience.

However, for 95% of the regular gym going public, they would be blessed to have you guiding them on their iron journey.

If you give me the rest of the email, I will find this person and beat them up for you.

First off …. I’d tell that indvidual to fuck off.

Let’s break it down.

  • You’ve been at it longer then 5 years
  • no your squats arent ass to grass but your not a olympic lifter. From the few videos I looked at you seem to be hitting at least parallel. Your form looks good along with your other lifts
  • This indvidual is trying to associate your strength level with your knowledge and your ability to instruct others. Which is horse shit. Ive been around the block and some of your top lifters ive known are dumb as shit and cant coach to save their ass.
  • My word of advice tell that indvidual to go to hell and dont let them live rent free in your head..
  • Thats my 2 cents.

We do an interesting thing as humans where we can receive 1000 compliments and blow them all off but 1 criticism will make us question everything about ourselves. Something we are teaching my kid is that not everyone is going to be your friend, and the follow up is you don’t WANT everyone to be your friend.

You have gotten proper accolades from people that actually matter. This is a faceless nobody hiding behind a screename just slinging venom because there is something wrong in their lives. Quite frankly, you do not WANT the approval of such a person. Receiving it should make you question yourself, whereas receiving their criticism should reaffirm your position.

Well, you know me, always doing my psychopath thing.

So I found a musician named Hardin on the googles that looks a little like he lifts, and plays music- which fits with the email name HardinBardin - and approximately the age of someone born in '85 (40 years old).

His profile pic look like this.

So I dunno. I think if somebody goes out of their way to send you an email like that they are by their very nature an enema bag that got backfilled and left in the sun.
