My wife’s entire family is here…3 sisters, 1 husband, 3 kids, plus the mother-in-law. Mother-in-law is not staying with us, but is visiting every day. it is chaos!
On the CGB, makes me wonder if a new regular bench PR could have been had, were I doing that. Oh well.
I hope for your sake that you have a secret room that no one knows about!! And its filled with booze…you’ll need it… God Bless you…

Well, our bedroom is off limits to everyone…except us. I have a bathroom in there, my computer, a television, DVD/VCR, telephone…the essentials. Wife can bring food and water.
Mother-in-law and her husband showed up a bit ago. She has already tweaked the one nerve that she hasn’t already fried. I am hiding in the bedroom, so that I don’t kick her out. Best for family peace and harmony.
Of course, her daughters are all pretty much tired of her shit too. But they can’t just tell her to fuck off, like I can.
Out of sight, out of mind…right?

Strick, good luck! Be a ghost…a very polite ghost. It not like she’s moving in with you…

I did my best. I was not overly friendly, the remainder of her stay, but I was civil. Mainly, I just avoided her.
With them gone, we are down to 12 people in the house . It is a pretty good visit, despite the chaos of 6 kids, when the mother-in-law isn’t there.
For now, though, I am at work. I never really thought that I could ever consider work a refuge. I am right now, though.
And to top it all off, MrsS just called me to tell me that the upstairs AC is not blowing cool air! 8 people have to sleep up there! We just replaced the one downstairs and had this one serviced. Frack!
I am going to grab some valium, a wad of 1’s and head to the girly bar.
First time visiting your log, looks like so great lifting going on in here. Sounds like your in for a few rough days though!
This is your first time here, Germanone?? Go back a few pages, it’s quite a story.

Hey! Thanks for dropping in. I don’t know about great, but it is getting done.
And I am really looking forward to today’s rack pulls. I have some stress to burn off!
It is chaos! The mother-in-law, God love her, decided that she needed a couple of days to recover. So, she didn’t go by yesterday and isn’t coming by today. So everyone is a bit happier. Well, except me. I am at work, unable to enjoy her absence…lol.

A sad, sad story. Sometimes those are the good ones, though.
Oh dear. That’s sounds challenging. All I can suggest is attivan and hiding. Treat it like a test of courage that you just have to get through ![]()

Sorry? The missus making great gains is sad? Your tremendous lifting is sad? Did I miss something here?

Lol…I will make it. It just won’t be fun. But I do have a vacation starting on Friday (3 day overlap with one of the guests). But 7 days of freedom, after that. Light at the end of the tunnel.

MrsS’ progress is the one highlight in it. My lifting has been far from tremendous, but I am hoping for an uptick.
Deadlift
NW didn’t workout with me because of her 3 sisters, 1 brother-in-law, 2 nephews and 1 neice require her time. I, however, was not so hospitable ![]()
Rack Pulls - from bottom pin = 8" elevation
135x5
225x5
315x3
365x1
385x3
395x3
405x3
415x3
425x3
455x1
480x1
500x1 - PR +5# - from this height
Speed Deads
225x3x3
Lunges w/ DBs- Still hate them
50x8 - each leg
**stopped here due to a tweaking left knee and cramp in my right quad
Still felt like a good workout. The 500# was ugly, but I think that more an issue of fatigue, since 480# went up strong and smooth.
Strick- Ugly …purty…500 is 500!!!
My sister-in-law and her daughter just showed up…the good news is she doesnt like my dogs ( too big and intimidating) huh, I’ll have to thank my wife for buying them afterall! She decided to stay with my wife’s sister…BINGO we have a winner.

My “cramp”, it turns out, is a “pull”. Damned lunges!
Good for you! God bless you wife and the doggies.
Sad thing is, my mother-in-law lives less than an hour away. She is the one who orchestrated this whole visit. But everyone is staying with us. We were not asked. We found this out.
Had we planned this (and we would not have planned for all at once), it would have been more palatable and we would have been better prepared.
Congrats on the 500 pull. (how do you manage to type it in Bold?)
All those relatives and it’s not even Christmas? WTF?
I get on fine with my mother in law (she’s actually my wife’s stepmother), but my wife is ready to ring her neck after about 3 days. If she comes for a week things gets decidedly tense by the end.
I like the idea of a “panic room”.
Nice job on the PR!

Nothing like a little stress to bang out a PR. Nice work. I know the feeling of a cramped house. It’s normal for me. I live in a 3 bedroom, one bathroom bungalow with the wife, 4 daughters, 3 dogs, and whichever of my ‘adopted’ kids…i.e. daughters friends…spends the night. However, I’m a ‘the more, the merrier’ kind of guy. For whatever reason, crowds don’t bother me at home, only in public. Turns out I really am a family guy. BTW, if you’re being courteous and hospitable, then you’ve done your job. Everything above that is a bonus.
