MrsS was rather intimidated by this evenings workout…MP 5x5 at 75#. Her max is 80# But damned if she didn’t pull it off.

5x8x4 – Yes, that is 5#. I will try to get her to 10# next week.

Upped weight on deads by 20# - keeping it slow
Upped weight on box squats by 50#

Was going to go spelunking, but I am wiped out.

As for the workout - I’ll be more than happy to go up on the laterals next time, but someone broke the other 10lb DB in a tantrum one day, so we only have one. So I’ll have to go up to 15lbs.

I was really not expecting the MP to go last night. Last time I tried 75lbs, there was no way I was going to get it on 5x5, so I went into it thinking I’d fail, but I’d do as much as I could. So I was really surprised when I got it. Happily surprised, of course. Doing things I didn’t think I could always makes for a fun workout.

Tomorrow - squats! I love squats. Don’t ask me why, but I do :slight_smile:

The 75x5x5 was pretty awesome. After the 1xst set, I wasn’t sure the rest would go.

So jealous you get your wife to lift with you. Mine decides to lift with me twice a year like clock work. She does enough to get sore then she’s out for 6 months. Good job both of you.

dday, the thing is, she likes the soreness. If she doesn’t feel sore afterwards, she gripes that I didn’t have her do enough.
I think THAT is why she likes squats and deads. They give the best DOMS. Well, that and she can lift more weight that way.

Well, I can see that y’all have kept up the usual level of decorum in my absence. I was going to make a comment about lifting but I can’t seem to find any of that mentioned in here…

Thanks, Wilson. But anymore, I feel fragile, every time I bench. Like I am half a twinge from falling apart.

And I REALLY need to work on my shoulders. They are way too tight. Which may be the problem.

Big Man- HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY!! 42 is so freakin young…Its so young my kids used to listen to me when I was 42!! Hope all is well.

Congrats to the Mrs’, that’s a pretty big PR. Bet she has a real confidence break through after that and the numbers start flying up.
