They’re my fave too even though I’m a much stronger DLer.

As well it should!

She’s going to pass me up! Egads! I guess I can always fall back on “But I’m small. And I’m old.”

You are tiny, and still way stronger than I am. Don’t worry, I’m not going to pass you any time soon!

I was regretting the lift in the middle of the night last night when I hurt so much I couldn’t sleep. Although, now I’m not sure that pain had much to do with the workout, since it turns out my daughter isn’t feeling 100% either. I am definitely feeling it today
though, walking and moving to a sitting position… gotta love those DOMS

Congrats to the Mrs’, that’s a pretty big PR. Bet she has a real confidence break through after that and the numbers start flying up. [/quote]
Thank you! I did feel amazing after getting it, one of those ‘I can’t believe I just did that but I did it!’ things. I don’t think the numbers are going to go up that quickly though, it definitely took all I had to get this. I’ll probably stick with it at least one more week, to make sure I can get it with decent form. There was a lot of back in the lift last night.

Well, I SAY I’ll stick with it another week. That’s if Skip stops trying to take my 5x5 away. I like the 5x5, but HE seems to think I should stop doing it and max, just because he’s curious. I told him tough cookies.

Ha! You think you’re sore now. Wait until after this evening .
And, no, I am not talking about a surprise weight workout.

Stop that! I am not trying to take your 5x5 away. Having been there, though, I know how close to the limit you are. Taking a workout to get a new max is both a curiosity thing and a way to give the muscles another week to recover, before venturing on. You 5x5s are almost to your maxes.

BUT, this is your journey. So we will do what you want.
But at least now you know what getting nagged feels like  (Yes, I will pay for that)

Ahem.
Finally worked up the energy for spelunking? Took you long enough old man.

NOW I know what it feels like? Hah. You badger me into things all the time. Heck, I wouldn’t be lifting or posting this if you weren’t the worlds master nagger.

Pointed conceded.

Another weekend come and gone. I will be catching up on logs later. For the short of it, MrsS keeps on moving.

MrsS

Bench
barx8
65x5
85x3
100x5x5 - PR +4 Sets There was never any question, except in her own mind. I have a video, but it isn’t downloaded, of set 5. I’ll try to get her to post it later.

Seated Rows - wide grip
70x8
90x8x4

Lat Pulls
90x8x4

CGB - shoulder width
65x5
85x5x3

She was fearful of the bench 5x5. It took some effort, but she never came close to missing a rep.

My “I’m in the weight room” workout

Military Press
barx20
95x10
135x10
175x5
205x5
215x5
225x5

BB Upright Rows - wider grip - to mid chest
barx10
95x10
135x10
155x10

Shrugs
135x10
225x10
315x15
405x10x2

Laterals
40x10x4

Rev. Flyes (delt raises)
40x10x5

I’m still feeling weak on the MP. Just gonna have to ride it out.

Im doing MPs today, its a max out week, but my body feels shot, I tweaked my neck and back last week, and now my right tri is all ganked up. WTF!? We will see how it goes today, fingers crossed. How are you liking the UR Rows, now with a wide grip?

Damn, Matty. Nothing like being primed for maxes…lol.

My right wrist is killing me, after doing the wide grip rows. I think, maybe, they weren’t wide enough. How wide do you go?

Just about shoulder width maybe a bit closer, I am so shot right now, Im doing the actual motions of the exercises in my cubicle right now to see if the actual motion will give me an issue, AIR PRESSES RULE!

Do air presses count? If so, I get to claim a few more reps myself.

Tear it up!

I’m liking the "im in the weightroom training. You did some good work. Way to go on the better half’s PR1

I’d hardly call 5*225 on the military press “feeling weak”. Someday I hope to be that weak myself!

Solid, solid work.

james

As promised…video of set number 5.

Thank James and Wilson. I mean “weak” as in the weight just feels really heavy. Were I to max, I wouldn’t get anywhere near that 280#. I go through cycles like this. I just need to ride it out and keep plugging away.

Nice benching Mrs. S!

I did notice the ratio of weight used between squat and bench is fairly low, which is pretty unusual for a female lifter. I’m going to vote for too little weight being used on the squat!

Thank you!

I haven’t maxed on squats in quite a while, so I have no idea what I can actually do there. I know the last 5x5 I did almost kicked my butt. I’ll keep working on it though. Squats are my favorite, I want to be good at them!

Deads x 2

MrsS

Deadlift - we decided to max today, since she wasn’t feeling on her game. Glad we did, as I am not sure a 5x5 would have left her walking. Everything looked, and she said felt, heavy.

135x5
175x5
205x5
230x1
240x1 - PR +5#
250x0 - barely left the floor
250x1 - PR +15#
135x10

Her back rounded on the 250#, but it could have been worse. We need to strengthen her arch and start thinking about a belt for her. The 250# is 1.79 x bw. Not bad for 4 months in!

Me

Deadlift
135x8
225x5
315x5
335x5
365x5
365x5
405x3 - got MrsS’ approval to do this. She is a nazi when it comes to how much I DL with.
315x5

That was it.
