Lifting with SLAP Tear

Over the past few months I’ve had constant pain in my right shoulder. I stopped doing direct shoulder work along with benching for a while hoping that would clear it up. Around mid-December I went to an ortho, he thought it was a SLAP lesion so he wanted to do an MRI. Due to the holiday/scheduling conflicts/ changing insurance I was not able to get the MRI done.

I performed the O’Brein test today and felt quite significant pain, so I believe it’s probably a SLAP lesion. I am currently out of town for work in a semi remote location and won’t be able to get the MRI for another 2 months. I have access to a gym but wasn’t sure what exercises I should avoid. Obviously pushing (horizontal and vertical) should be avoided but I was wondering about training back and traps.

I was thinking if I did pulling exercises to avoid really heavy but wasn’t sure if I should avoid traps all together too. Also I know the bicep tendon could be affect so if I did arms to use lighter weights. What do you guys think?
