When I’m squatting I use a couple of small plates under my heels on the advice of the gym owner so I’m thinking of getting some lifting shoes. Having a look at them and wow they are very expensive! Found some a bit more in my price range and wondering if anyone has any opinion on them? They are called More Miles lifting shoes, seem to get good reviews but you never know with online reviews! Here’s a link, what do you think?
Here’s a photo. They’d cost me about £37 shipped so a huge saving over other makes!
I’ve used Do-Wins ($120 USD) and the Nike Romaleo 2 ($180 USD, I think).
Do-Wins were okay.
My Nikes are absolutely awesome, great shoe, worth every penny I paid for them. I love them. I have been lifting in them for about 1.5 years and they still look and function great. They will last a long time.
I would suggest making the initial investment into a nice shoe.
Bro ! Those More Miles look exactly like a pair of the Adidas Power Perfect 2 !!
Maybe it is born of the same mold and then rebranded by this company ?
Does anyone else see the resembalance ?
Just check on the heel elevation ! It should be between .75 and 1.0 inch high.
Otherwise they look “good” ?

Just had a look at the Adidas Power Perfect 2’s and your right they are very alike! That sort of thing happens a lot with things made in China, factory make a run of something to a customers design then do a run for themselves without the branding! I think the heel is a little higher than that but been reading up on heel height and I’m ok with it if it is a bit bigger.
i squat and deadlift bare foot never tried lifting shoes
is there that much difference?

I wouldn’t recommend one for deadlifts.
For squats and a few other movements (mainly pressing), I like a weightlifting shoe. Now, I squatted in Chucks for years with no issues, but the elevated heel and super grippy soles are nice to have when squatting. Feels like depth is easier to hit.
Definitely not a “must have”, but there are worse things you could spend your money on in terms of getting bigger and stronger.

If they are “bad” shoes it doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t serve their purpose. It just means they will fall apart sooner than a more expensive pair. For casual use they’re probably fine, bear in mind that an oly lifter who is training his lifts everyday will need more durable shoes than you might.

Ditto. That said, those look like they’ll do just fine so long as the heel doesn’t compress. See how they go. If you find they make a real difference, then maybe get some Romaleos since you’ll be sure WL shoes work for you.
Thanks for the input, I’m going to put an order in for a pair next week so I’ll let you know what thy are like. Probably wont be the best but they’ll give me an idea of lifting in shoes before pulling the trigger on a £150 pair!
The more mile shoes look good (I checked a pair out last month, as a guy in the gym had some) I would order them.

They are on their way I’m a size 10 normally but they only had 44’s or 45’s which are 9.5 and 10.5 so I went with the 9.5, thinking a bit tighter is better than loser for a lifting shoe! I’ll let you know what they are like when they arrive.
Well they arrived yesterday and lifted in them today. I’m really pleased with they. They seem well made, not top quality but better than the price would suggest. They feel very solid under foot with no give in the heel that I could feel. Think the heel my be a bit higher than some but found squatting in them very comfy. One of the guys that works at the gym said my form as spot on in them so pleased about that. I tended to go onto my toes but in these it felt like I was pushing through my heel a lot more. I might do a bit of a review video on then as there’s not much info around on them!
