Lifting in a Rams Head

Squat - 280,320,360x3 370x1 280x5x3
OH press first rep cleaned from floor - 135,155,175,195x5 140x15

1a - chins 12,+25x6,+35x5,+45x3,10
1b - face pull - 4x15

HLR 2x20

Strong presses. I like the idea of taking the first rep off the floor.

Thanks Crip…generally I clean them from the hang, but had no rack…

You using straps Matty?

Looking good Matt. I’ve found cleaning the first rep for MP changes the entire exercise. Changes my grip and how I stand. Makes it more difficult.

Yes I am once I hit 315…I am using the walks as a conditioning/strength use. I dont think it would be effective if I kept losing the grip. If I were training for grip I would ditch the straps.

It certainly does, for one I cant go false grip and really have to concentrate on excellent form or it all goes to shit.

Cool and I agree.

Cleaning the first rep on MP’s would cost me about three reps per set with any kind of real weight. Nice work, training looks really solid.

Lol thanks Dave…If I didnt get hurt I probably would have never tried it.

DL - 315, 405, 440x3 455x1 495x1 515x1 post injury PR! It was ugly but i’ll take it

DB Row - 105 x 8 min x 53 reps

Leg press - up to 5pps x15 6pps x10

Seated DB cleans - 30,40,50x12

Got creative with the conditioning today…

OH trap bar carries - bar x 60yds 95x60 yds 135x60 yds this was very difficult
KB OH walk - 40lbs each hand by 60 yds
Trap Bar carry - 315x60 yds

You’re a beast. Nice deadlifting Matt.

nice pull

looking jacked as fug

my gym sucks-
i have to move the plates and the trap bar to an area I can walk in - it might be 40 feet

Good work on the PR dead.

Thanks guys, I am lucky to have access to this gym…

I was pretty beatup yesterday

Back to earth today…neck and shoulder acting like Lionel Richie…bitchy

Bench - 210,240,270x3
Face Pulls - 4x10
DB - Floor press - 65,75x15 80x10
Pendlays - 135,185,225,245x8
Band PD tri ladder - 5x10+15

Probably gonna drop my training max for bench, I am just getting the reps on the third set, I have to continue to make slow steady progress of that lift, dropping my TM may do that. I am considering a meet in november or december, I will decide for sure by late Sept, if Squat and Dead show progress I will. I am pretty confident that it will. My goal is a 315 bench at a meet, not a PR but as long as I get three wheels on Bench and PR in the dead and squat I will be happy

Your dead might have been ugly, but you nailed it.

How nice to have a post-injury PR! And no one grades max DLs on prettiness.

Lol…thanks very much snap

Farmer’s Walk
135 Lb x 120 reps
225 Lb x 120 reps
315 Lb x 60 reps
Notes: Reps=yards

Bodyweight
236 Lb

BB Overhead Carries - 135x3x60yds, first time doing these, I like them going to mix things up between the walks and OH stuff, stabilizers yo.

DB Clean and Press - 40,50,80,80x3
Spoon Press - 50x3x20
CS DB Row - 50x3x20
Kayak Row - 4x8
Poundstone Curls - bar x 4 x 30

Kept it all light yesterday, a bit banged up shoulder and neck…live to fight another day

I’ve never tried overhead carries. They must be hard to control.
