I felt like I had the flu the day after lol

I think I have to shelve hang cleans…
Banded pause squat light bands - 225, 275, 300, 325 x3
Snatch Grip deads - 225, 275, 315 x5 405x3
SS with banded leg curls 4x10
Leg extensions RP - 140x15,14,12,12,8,4
Hang cleans - 135x2x5 185x2x3 205x3

Repping 4 plates on snatch grips is strong work Matty!

Hell yeah! Snatch grip deads with 405 rocks!

Thanks guys, I did use straps, I dont how you could do it without em! I really really enjoy these, if I am feeling up to snuff the general idea will be conventional deads with 531 on one day and auto-regging SGDL on the other, With grip not an issue I feel pretty confident in these.

I had my wife measure my arms today, as I have now visually seen atrophy in my left arm…unfortunately I was not obsessing my left arm is 17.5 inches compared to my right at almost 19 inches. I know I am mainly concerned with strength but I would be lying if size is not 1b for me, pretty bummed out about it TBH.

Curious once I get this injury settled if I will see my left arm regain size and strength…or will it be permanently fucked.

I don’t work for size at all and both of my flexed arm measurements are 17 1/8" right now. When I tore my right biceps my right arm went down over an inch but the atrophy didn’t last and just through lifting, with no special emphasis on the right arm, the right biceps returned to equal the left in size. So, yes your left arm should return to its former size to match the right.

Whenever I start doing curls again I will put on 1/2 to 1" back on my biceps in a month or two but I’m finding it difficult to fit curls in to my program. I like having big arms but strength is all I’m really after so curls aren’t a focus. This may change just because I think I need to incorporate curls for conditioning and to add some strength with almost direct biceps work.

Matty I agree with GV on this one. I didn’t lose much size in my left arm after my bicep tendon surgery last February but what little I did lose has come back and my total bicep work now amounts to about 4 sets per week. Having said that my arms arm only about 16 1/2 inches cold and about an inch bigger than that after benching and doing bicep work.

This is comforting to hear, I appreciate the feedback guys. I have been lucky as I generally do very little bicep work and my arms are a decent size, its just a little disconcerting to see the size difference that there wasnt before. I think I may up the bicep training a little more for the time being.

Today…

This upcoming procedure is like being in traffic, and having to take a massive shit…you finally make it to your house and you dont have to shit anymore. I pressed three plates on the HS Vertical Press machine. I know big fucking deal, but two months ago I could barely squeeze out 2 plates on the machine…fuck.

One step at a time. You’ll be killing it soon enough.

If its any consolation I’d take your atrophied-left-arm size in a heart beat. Good luck with the procedure.

Been thinking about throwing in some hight pulls for fun. Do you think the high pulls add to your other lifts?
