Lifting in a Rams Head

x2 for the thumb trick

My post was lost into the ether…

Today…
Squat - worked up to 405x2 @8 RPE. Had 2 more in me for sure. Had to bring in my stance as I have been going wider as of late. Hips were barking because of it, the shoulder width stance felt good though.

Floor Press, Face Pulls, Inverted Rows, One arm Tbars, Inverted Rows, Tris…crap like that

Epidural tomorrow…

Squatting the day before an epidural…

“Hard core” is a term thrown around loosely, but you, Sir, are Hard Core!

Good luck with the results.

Thanks PG! not sure about Hardcore, but certainly hard headed lol!

Epidural went fine yesterday, about 20 minutes of prodding and sticking, then the doc said I think I got the spot, and he inserted the medicine, I felt it run down my arm like a slight burning sensation all the way to the fingers that are always going numb, weird in a good way.

Today back at it…tears in a bucket fuck it

A1) Goblet Squats - 25, 35, 45, 70, x 15
A2) Snatch Grip Deads - 135x10 185x10 225x10 275x5

Hang Cleans (Wendler Style) - 90x10 135x10 155x5 175x5 SS with DB Laterals
DB Cleans - 40x3x12 SS with Svend Press - 20x3x20 (two 10lb plates)
Cable Flys - 6x15 SS with Band Pushdowns
And an assortment of bro curls

Glad to see you hitting it hard in the face of adversity.

So you got a hard core for squatting day before the epidural, there is no adequate adjective for deadlifts the day after…

Thanks guys…just trying to hold fort until I’m back in competition mode…

Yesterday

Deads - 315, 405, 455x3 495x2 515x1
Pendlays - 135,185x15 225, 245x 5 185x10
Snatch Grip HP - 90,135,155,185,205,225x3
Face Pulls - 120x4x15

First time going heavy-ish on the pulls in a long while. Felt pretty solid today

515 is a big pull. Great work.

Strong!
So are you good? Epidural work? 515 is a good sign…

Thanks Jack…it was a grinder, but it was nice to pull it.

Corrmhona - Thanks bud! No pain, which is a good sign, but my left arm is very limited as the nerves are very constricted it seems and literally any pushing movements are pointless at this point.

Yesterday was a BB day of sorts, worked on tris and bis…attempted to bench but seriously at this point its pointless, no strength whatsoever in left arm, from here on in light db movements and flies only just to maintain some activity in my chesticles.

Some rowing on the concept 2.

That’s a lot of heavy work in one session, how are you feeling today?

I feel good, thanks Dave, no pain whatsoever, however no pushing strength whatsover lol. Not really sure how to approach the strength issue with regards to being able to regain strength w/o surgery, dont know if its even possible.

Your basically back to 100% pulling strength which is great progress.

Other than getting opinions from as many of the best you can find specialist’s on the injury I don’t have any advice. I hope they come up with a non surgical solution even if it takes a while to get all the way back.

Keep pluggin away man. I know you will push through.

Dude,I watched your squatting video. Looked great and you,re massive. Well done!

how did the 515 feel? Thats a nice pull brother.

Dave - Thanks man, my max is 540, to pull very close to that was confidence building for sure…
Corrmhona - Thanks man you know I will.
Joe - It felt HEAVY lol…but that shit went up! did 495 for a double which had something to do with it, but like I said to Dave it was a bit of a confidence builder.
Confusion - Thanks bro, drop in anytime!

Today…

Squat @9 x3 - 225,275,315,335,365,385 x 3 @9.5 - All I had today, no wraps today, try to use the wraps sparingly.
Floor Press - 135x4x12-15 - Cant Bench heavy but just keeping the groove greased. (SS with seated Face Pulls 90x15 120x3x15)
CG Floor Press - 135x2x10
CS DB Row - 55x20 75x15 85x12,10
Band Pushdowns / Pull Over

Most people would kill to have a regular workout like your rehab workout…
